B&O place the ball... take several steps backwards... look the goalkeeper in the eye... deep breath...take the run up... strike the ball...

.... then balloon it over the bar and into the crowd.

Fail.

What are they thinking of?  Even the rapper sounds like a Kanye West tribute act.

Also... hiding wires is still en vogue.

From the comments section (there are some hilarious ones in there..)

"inh Sam  4 weeks ago

Pretty sure these are wired headphones, but WHERE'S THE WIRE??  None of these fools are listening to any audio in this video lol.  DJ Khaled doing 360 spin moves with earmuffs pretty much."

I did wonder if they've deployed wireless headphones. What a complete #fail if they have scrubbed the cables, implying they are wireless, but they do indeed require a cable!

I felt physically sick after watching that!  What on Earth were B&O thinking?

Looking at the comments, B&O has lost whatever credibility they previously had.  Shockingly awful video/advertisement of what is actually an excellent headphone.  The H6 and B&O  have now become a laughing stock have and sacrificed in one fell swoop all of their ethos of style and quality.

B&O please note and take it down.

Edit:  Sorry, I felt so bad about this video, I've just sent an e-mail to Geoff Martin as a B&O insider to let him know what a laughing stock this video has made of B&O.

Dave.

Having worked with these kind of artists for many years, the answer is always less is more. Too much of their art and it all goes wrong. Ok, yes it is a little painful to watch (i'm being kind here) BUT and here's the BUT, had this video been well edited down to a tight 15-20 seconds, it may have actually worked!

I applaud B&O for trying. It just needs a young creative agency to tighten it up!

This 30 seconds Beats commercial seams to get it right for their target market...

Look for the cables on the Avants with the floor stand on the B&O promotional videos. It was the first thing I saw ruining the look at the dealer launch . They may have used a false floor/ plinth for the Avant but not so easy with headphones !

Guys you're not thinking outside the box here. Chris of course a mother in law isn't going to approve of something aimed at a 15-25 age group.

This advert firstly isn't made by B&O. It's made by this rappers management and he's trying to preach to his community. Secondly, it was aimed at the young generation not 40+ white English men.

Yes the advert is rather poor but you have to applaud B&O for going with something different! It's nice to see them shaking off the Aston Martin, Bentley super pretentious image. It just needs a little art direction.

I applaud them for trying every angle to try to create sales or brand awareness. I feel that they have an incredibly hard job ahead of them and I wouldn't for all the money in the world wouldn't do it.

Just reminds me of when I suggested a Jaguar for my wife . She did a test drive but felt way too young and felt sorry for the salesman . These headphones need something viral and subliminal to happen , such as placement in a situation with cool people .

What next ? Paul McCartney in a speaker promotion!

Well, I'm 18 and I think the commercial is embarrassing and I don't think this commercial would make any of my friends want to buy a pair of B&O headphones! I fail to understand why B&O are trying to target the typical Beats consumer. The "We the best"-thing and DJ Khaled doesn't fit into the world of B&O at all! And don't even get me started on leaving the wires away... what an own goal, B&O!

Hi Dennis,

The reason why B&O are trying to target the BEATS customer, just like everyone else is that for the past five years, they've had over 60% of the premium priced headphone market! In 2013, BEATS revenue from headphones was 1.5billion dollars - now can you see why so many companies want to aim at this market!

As I mentioned, if it had ben edited well to a 15-20 second commercial it would have been maybe quite good but that Mercedes limousine and the gold watch just reeks of 'new money' and it rather off putting.

The advert is also very very wrong in that the rapper is talking as though 'He' has designed and engineered the headphones and it's all his work, that's very wrong though!

Is that a commercial just made to prove that rappers are TOTALLY STUPID?

a. As previously noted, they have forgotten to plug a cable on their headphones

b. The H6 is the simplest headphone on the market : the "L" and "R" letters are printed in BIG size inside each cup, so that it's totally impossible to put it on your head the wrong way. BUT the rappers on the video keeps putting it the wrong way (look at 0:28 for instance...)

I don't think it's a commercial for B&O...

Utter despair!!

I just can't imagine under what sort of controlled product introduction process this can ever have passed all of the meetings and reviews that would normally take place before being actually released!!

It seems like a work experience student's project mistakenly made it all the way.

Totally ill-conceived and can only have harmed any  technical reputation the product may have gathered.

B&O could have sold more by aligning themselves with fluffy kittens than they'll manage with this debacle!

Other than that Chris, I have to say I'm quite ambivalent about the whole thing!Big Smile

Don't you know if you shout 'we the best' that we must be the best.  i think that's like Bunnings yelling 'we are the cheapest' yet they are not.

That guy comes across as a tosser and a has-been with the dated monologue.  It's all been done before, and B&O, the Dr Dre connection is drawing a very thin line.

I know what I like with my gold diamond rolex (déclassé), and Maybach.  It sort of reminds me of that guy on youtube that photos himself licking money and saying how rich he is.... mmm classy.  I would have laughed if he was sipping Cristal in the car hahaha.

This ad also reminds me of when they increase the number of poker machines in lower socio economically developed areas, there is a specific demographic.

I love DJ's, and I love to party, like Hip Hop music, but B&O, I never thought I would say that you have cheapened yourself (if this is a B&O commercial).

I'll reserve judgement until I see them in the flesh....to be fair I thought the Blue H6 looked horrid in the initial picture but they have grown on me.

If B&O want to take some of the Beats market, what about hiring someone who doesn't advertise Beats?? Unsure

In all fairness Lee, these are the BEATS Pro headphones and a lot of dance & RnB stations in the USA use them, so the chances are, these are the radio stations headphones.

Surely the rapper is not as terrible as the manufactured music that comes out of the UK in the form of the X Factor which for some reason grabs 10million viewers a week?

Maybe (i'm not too sure but the guy does work with Rick Ross who is HUGE!!!!!!!!) DJ K is big in the USA and this may just help spread brand awareness for B&O in the USA? Who knows

You simply don't get it - it's the way forward apparently, Paul W says so!

All I can think is that their ambition is to pull out of the headphone market altogether!!

I'm a firm believer in the Jeremy Clarkson "School of Cool" - if it attracts premiership footballers then it is not and never will be cool. You'll never see a footballer getting of the team coach wearing a good pair of Sennheisers - I don't think Sennheiser have to do free give aways to celebs because they sell on reputation and quality, a business model I thought B&O would have aspired to rather than pandering to saddos and knobheads!

He's equally bad - shouting over someone else's tune or drum loop is not in any way creative. In years to come he will not even feature in the top 100 list of rappers, he is that poor!

I managed to get to the Maybach (another obsolete dinosaur which failed abysmally) and had to stop.  I feel violated, dirty.  My IQ has certainly suffered considerably from the exposure.  Assuming they are not wireless, the whole thing is a bit like advertising a car but taking the wheels off in all the shots.

Is anyone actually in charge at B&O or have the monkeys taken over the asylum?  Bizzare at best, desperate at worst.  Definately not aimed at me.

Guys, it's very clear that this is not the forum to talk about rap music and rappers. It's very much like asking Radio 2, 3 and 4 listeners to talk about Kiss FM.

B&O are trying at every angle and just maybe, one angle will work. What B&O needs is youth on its side. You can be the richest man in the world but there's thing you'll never have and that's youth - life, energy! It kind of reminds me of Jaguar cars - that'll never be a young car - it's old, it makes you feel old etc.

B&O is trying and trying really hard. I hope they find it!

You can be the richest man in the world but there's thing you'll never have and that's youth - life, energy!

Or else you can be the youngest, richest man in the world and you'll still never have common sense or a real sense of perspective!

You have to be a fast moving, shallow, company, willing to change stance and allegiance in a heartbeat to be a company following fashion - this is not B&O and if this is the path it chooses to follow it will certainly lose it's current customers and will likely not manage to keep up with the fashionistas - resulting in a complete and utter dead end.

So the f type coupe r is an old mans car and it made you feel old when you drove it?I would have one any day rather than a boring audi.

Being the richest man in the world would give you choice,I would rather have 20 yrs of enjoyment than 40 years of resentment.

i don't know why you always bring up the age issue,as if B&o will only succeed if younger people buy it.

You are not exactly young yourself,I certainly would not be as interested in a brand that every kid had, just like audi, the amount of young kids all copying each other, driving the same cars and wearing the same clothes.etc is boring.

High end goods are something to aspire to and work against,as you mature and have surplus income you can reach your goal and enjoy.

patek phillipe watches don't market to the young market, and they are desirable by all ages. You can be a sheep or a Shepard this day of age,I know what I would rather be.I buy B&o because it's not mainstream like Samsung, beats etc.

When something gets too common, it's not as cool and desirable, look at residual values of mercedes, bmw and audi cars as they are the new rep mobiles like mondeos of the past, because they have flooded the market.

B&o should stand high above the others and not follow suit as it will lose its exclusivity when it gets too common.People in the know chose sennheisers over beats as they are far superior, sheep buy beats because a celebrity says their better.

rant over.
