Hi

I was wondering which people prefer?  I'm thinking of upgrading :-)

They are quite different, so it depends on your needs. I have the H3 and the A8 earphones and while they both sound great, the A8s do not provide sound isolation. So you can listen to music and carry on a conversation. You can also be quite active due to the ear hooks. The H3s do provide some isolation and since they seal in your ear canal, are able to provide better full range response. I would use the H3 for most activities, and the A8 for jogging. The H3 are my personal favorites, even over my Etymotic Research earphones.

If planning to compete in the Tour de France then I'd go for the 3i

Thanks guys, I currently have the A8s but I don't have the microphone which is sometimes handy.  I jog and I ride, so maybe the 3i.

I love my orange A8s, but the gold H3 looks soooo good too.

Hey Michael!

I have H3, H6, 3i, A8 and Form 2i :). I think the H3 is very convenient.  They are small and light and produce a good sound (although not as bright perhaps as 3i - but much better bass tones and midrange). I first felt that they sounded a bit off but I think they just need to be worn in to sound good. I now use them more regularly than my H6 even on trains because they isolate some sounds very good and let sounds of speech through better.

I would therefore recommend you to try a pair of H3 instead of the 3i. I have the silver edition.

Hi Michael :-)

Thanks for the reply. I'll try the H3 - i think with your headphone collection, i'll be safe with your recommendation.

Just remember if you jog in Urban area then it's very important to hear around you for safety.
