how to reasign my vtape to use for my sat connection

Hi I have checked my setup and cannot stop my avant from starting my vtape how can i switch off my vtape as i do not use and use its scart for dvd, it all works ok when connected but i have to put a tape in and when it finishes my screen goes blank

I seem to remember that somewhere in the service menu there is an "internal VCR" box that needs to be "un-ticked" to allow external use of the VTR  socket on the rear of the TV for other equipment.

Among the collection of avant's they started from the beginning to control the vtape via a internally connected cable. Above the vtape you will find two grey flatcables. Disconnect them and it will not start up anymore.

But to reach these cables, you'll have to disassemble the vtape from the bottom.

As Ron posted above, it is not necessary to disassemle anything, you just need to deactivate the internal V.Tape in the service menu.
