Indeed. As it says on the tin, it's a loudspeaker switch for comparing speakers. Dealers used to have one, I believe ths has been seen on the forum before. It probably needs a control panel as well.

I have 2 of these, with the instruction and service booklets. You need an IR sensor (8712009) for the IR commands and a Beolink 1000 remote to operate it. It was used by dealers and they have come up on eBay a few times. It can be used with a Beomaster receiver then a whole load of different passive and active speakers. You can connect 2 of these switches together with an extension cable to operate 16 speaker sets of passive speakers or Powerlinked speakers.
It was not designed to compare speakers. It was to allow a potential buyer to try the desired combination of their chosen Beomaster with any speakers that they were interested in.
Dave.
Interesting Dave! But what kind of amplifier is inside of it?
Now I think I want one!
Edit: I think it can only be used with passive speakers if the beocenter/beomaster has an amplifier.
No amp. Just the IR receiver , power supply and micro-processor boards. You need to use either a BM 6500, 4500, 3500 or a Beocenter 9500 or 8500. Probably a BM7000 too though it's not listed but came a few years after the 6500 series.
I'll scan the documents I have and send them to Keith for inclusion on the 'Products' pages.
