Atlona HDMI Matrix, BV11, V1

Hoping someone can help. I've a BV11-55 connected to an Atlona ProHD44M-SR HDMI matrix switch (with the B&O PUC cable etc.).

It worked like a dream, tucked away in a cupboard connected to 2 STB's, a Roku box and a Mac Mini. Source switching, IR relay etc. was flawless...

In steps the V1. After paying for an activation key (HDMI Matrix support is still a pay for upgrade on the V1) i connected the Atlona to the V1 along with the PUC cables etc and it's all gone to pot.

After lots of anguish (and anger) what i'm basically stuck with is - restart Atlona and then whichever TV is switched on first after restart has perfect source switching, IR Relay etc. The other TV is stuck on the source last shown, no matter what. iR Relay still works pefectly (ie i can control the source from the stuck TV ) i can manually change source (walk to room next door etc), i can change source via IP (matrix switch has web interface) and can then control new source (so TV/PUC is sending remote commands to switch which it then relays to source) but i cannot get TV to change source (control Atlona).

Restart Atlona and switch in broken TV first and it works like a dream and problem is now on other TV. So what i have is a perfect setup on each TV (individually) an HDMI matrix that does exactly what it is supposed to but when i put it together it breaks....

Any ideas?

Make sure you're not using PUC1 on the V1?

Nope, PUC2A (the A being forced by the RJ45 to Atlona cable).

As an aside, why would 1 vs 2 make a difference?

BTW the BV11 also uses PUC2A - is that the reason for the conflict?

Check that both mini cables going to the IR on the baluns are identical. The Matrix is very sensitive to different mini cables.

OK, check that - Both cables are identical (white with a bulge in the middle), same markings etc. I have swapped them between the two TV's and the behaviour remains the same (one TV works, the other doesn't - I cycle the power on the switch and begin with the previously non working TV and it is fine but the other one now has the problem).

 

I.e. I can recreate the symptoms on demand and both sets have same issue if the other set was used before (after a power cycle). It's as if the first set being used 'takes over' the switch and the 2nd set can send whatever commands it desires it has no impact whatsoever (until a restart). That said, the IR relay to sources works perfectly so i can conclusively proof that the BV is sending PUC commands and that those commands are being relayed - It's only the matrix switch that selectively responds (or not) to PUC commands intended for it.
