Just bought a Beomaster 6500 in the hope it would link up to my Beogram 3300. The Beomaster came with no remote or control panel, so my question is, is it at all possible to operate the Beomaster without any of those? The source is stuck on Radio. Thanks in advance for your help.
Not really. Just on, off, and step program. Get a cheap Beolink 1000.

Thank you Mika. I have just ordered one from ebay and should be with me Thu/Fri. Will it work with any old Beomaster 6500 or do I need to do something to it before it can pick up the amp?
Usually it'll just work, but there's a small chance you will need to program the required audio option into the Beomaster (depends on how the previous owner used it). If it doesn't react to the remote, just ask.
And you're going to need a phono preamp in between the Beogram and receiver.
Oh no...I need more stuff ?? A phono pre amp. What is that and where do I find one? I am beginning to regret going down the Beomaster route. :-(
Unlike line level audio sources you connect to a receiver (CD, tape, etc.), the output from a phono cartridge is much lower, and requires an additional stage of amplification (=phono pramp) to bring it up to the same volume as other sources. It's built into Beomasters 5000 and 5500 but not the 6500 or 7000. One source is www.phonopreamps.com. I'm sure a member will chime in with a specific recommendation.

I have a TC770LC from this company and it is excellent.

*Cough cough*
I have another one, if that has any interest.

Another point is, that the DIN-plug of the Player must have 7 pins, two extra pins for datalink. Even without a remote, the Beomaster should switch to Phono, when pressing "play" on the player and having a record on.
Sorry, you have a pre amp for a Beomaster 6500? Do you live near or in Buckinghamshire by any chance? Email me details pls Henrikrade@gmail.com. Cheers Henrik
Yes!! Got the phono signal going! My speakers don't match either so where do I buy those B&O sockets?
Here, or from Steve @ Sounds Heavenly (see advert on bottom of this page).
