Anyone here know if it's possible to make the essence trigger a source when it receives a command from the remote?

IE I have a beolink passive that is like to turn on when I press the essence control.

I have the passive connected via the network link/beolink.

All are connected to beolink gateway too.

Any help is appreciated.

The Essence does of course send the "power on" via the sound signal to the attached speakers - can you use this signal in the PowerLink to trigger your BeoLink Passive?

I must admit, that I don't understand the question.

Could anyone explain, what the 'problem' is, please?

I think the simple answer is that the Essence can not be connected to a MasterLink Passive unit to drive speakers - even if there is one of the new ML/NL connection boxes involved.

As illustrated in the following cabling diagram, the Essence is very much a stand alone unit - no connectors for anything other than the Internet and Speakers and INPUT from a Line IN ... not any output to anything like a link system ... only output to speakers !

But surely if one of the Essence's PL speaker outputs was connected to a Passive PL input, it would trigger it to switch on, but of course only if the Passive were operating stand-alone rather than as part of an ML system?

But I am not sure if this is what the original poster was asking!

Me neither!

That would be an easy task - if you use the right PL cable.

P.S. He could use a 1611 (as MasterLink driver) to connect to MasterLink (and a BL passive).

But that is probably not, what he wants to (asks for)!
