That page says 'out of stock'!

Which means: is not available, yet!

You are correct. I should have mentioned that it will be released some time during October, so you wont have to wait for that long.

SHEFFIELD:

I received the hub a couple of days ago, but have been too busy to open the box. I will have a look tomorrow....

what I remember from the conference last week is that it is an add on to the existing Mk1 S8 before the new S8 comes out with integrated hub, with the new package costing circa £200 more than the mk1.

ill let you know how it works tomorrow.

Does anyone have an idea when the new S8 comes out with the new integrated package? It looks like the S8 is out of stock on BeoPlay's site, which might be a good sign something new is coming, correct?

Has the connection hub still not gone on sale yet? The website now says November and that's looking very unlikely with only a handful of days left.

Will the S8 ever come in White?

The A9 gets new colour everyday and the BL14 is in white so why not the S8?

I have a BeoPlay V1-32 in my office and I now use the BL6000 as extra speakers to the TV. It the S8 in white would look so much better.

Beo in white is my thingBig Smile

You could look for a BL14 2.1. Will probably be a few hundred euros more expensive, but they look better with the brushed aluminum.

I would not count on it. If they released it in white they would loose much of their sales for the beolab 14 system. I think that they released the s8 system simply because the beolab 14 was a failure and that they needed to recover some of their losses. Therefore they released the beoplay s8 in black. I also prefer the beolab 14 aluminium and white color. Beoplay s8 was also a failure, no support for wireless music streaming which all their other beoplay speakers had, not even a volume control or support for digital input. They have tried to solve this with the connection hub. But yet again a half measure. Still no wireless support. But at least volume control and a few more connection options. One would think that the connection hub would be included with the speaker, but no, this is sold separately.

That's what I was doing, but it looks like the BL14 2.1 doesn't have the ability to hook up to the TV via optical, correct?

You will either need a B&O television or connect it to a receiver to get any inputs on it.

Thanks for the clarification. That makes the s8 even cheaper by comparison since I don't have to buy either a B&O TV or a receiver for it to connect.

Well yes, but you will still need either the connection hub or a volume regulated pre-out to connect it with. beoplay s8 got an 3,5 aux for other products than B&O. And the beolab 14 got a multi connector as shown in the image bellow which you connect to an pre out on a receiver.

Hello,

Yesterday, my retailer said to me that it functions with any pair of beolab.

Regards

Yes, any PAIR of Beolab. Beolab s8 is 2.1 and Beolab 14 2.1 bot functions as a PAIR of speakers.

But the BL14 5.1 is a SET of speakers.

Of course, you're right. Stereo only with the connection hub.

Yes I believe so. As you can see in this review it looks like they are using the Beolab 14 stands for the S8. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRnKUKmJFZg

And I have the inverse.  I have the shelf stands for the S8 satellites being use with BeoLab 14 satellites.  I'm sure they are identical except for the color.
