Beogram 4500 turntable

Hi, I am new to Beoworld.

I have acquired some B&O components, all of them needing attention.

The Beogram 4500 turntable has 1 or more issues.

The arm moves to the correct drop down position, drops down, the cartridge skates around a bit on the record, then the arm gets dragged back and off the record, then lifts back up again. This happens in an endless cycle.

The player does this even after the stop button has been pressed and the 33/45 light is off.

There is a fair amount of clicking from beneath the platter while this happens.

The turntable is always spinning, unless I unplug the unit from power.

The forward and reverse buttons have no effect.

I know the cartridge will probably need replacing, I just need a magnifying glass to tell.
