I know that this is somethign many could do with. However still I'd like to post that I'd be looking for a Beogram 4000 lid in good condition. Mine is ok but pretty scratched.

Sounds interesting, although in general I prefer original parts with slight wear. However, I wonder how you can change the acrylic part of the lid without damaging the metal strip? The screws are beneath the strip...

Kai,

I guess that's why Frede also offers a replacement aluminium strip.  I'm sure that some strips can be removed carefully.  I've got an otherwise mint BG4000 but the alu strip has creases and scrapes - I'm not paying that amouint of money just for a new strip though.
