I have a quick question about the CD ripping device for the BeoSound 5. Will it play CD's or is it ripping only? I heard it should have been made possible to play CD's by a software update.

BeoVision Eclipse 55, BeoPlay S8 (sub+rears), BeoPlay A9 MKII (living room), BeoVision Avant 32 DVD (retro gaming, basement), BeoLab 4000 (entertainment room, basement), BeoSound 8 (workshop), 2x BeoPlay S3 (PC), BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay H2/H3 (on the go)

Yes,

It is a player too. The choice is made in the parameters of the BeoSound.

Please note that the CD-ripper is no longer available to order from B&O. The remaining stock can only be bought in combination with the BeoSound 5/BeoMaster 5.

Roger,

Do you think it's because of the troubles they had with the cd-ripper or because B&O decided to take "the full digital road" ?

Steph,

I do not know why - but I do wonder if this is a sign indicating that they are considering phasing the BeoSound 5 out (and replacing it with the Moment).

Or maybe it just isn't 'profitable' to order the ripper - B&O probably would have to buy more than the will ever be able to sell.

Selling out the rest now - but limiting them to new BS5 devices.
