Is there any way for a DVD1 to be configured to operate via Beo4 without a connected Beovision?

Hi kokomo,

I am afraid that it won't work without a BV connected as the DVD1 has no ir-receptor (the signal normaly gets routed from the BV through the scart cable to the DVD1). To my knowledge the DVD1 also has no connections for an external ir-eye.

So no good news... sorry

Thought not, but worth asking just in case there was.

Thanks for that.

Would it be possible with a -238 ? Just an idea. I have in mind that someone used one pin of the scart cable to send remote commands, but I'm not sure about that.

Possibly - Pin 8 and Ground are used to transmit the signals out of a beovision so presumably they are used to receive - the -238 is a converter though so I would imagine you would have to configure it to send and receive b&o commands - or would an ir eye at the right frequency connected to Pin8 and Ground do the same thing?

You may be able to configure a -238 to receive philips or some other remote control commands and then convert them into B&O DVD conmmands and transmit these directly into a DVD1 via scart?
