This is the second Archived Forum which was active between 1st March 2012 and 23rd February 2022
Agree with Phil - and, on any forum, there is a thin line between being a regular visitor or not, based on the perceived value of dropping in. I must admit that my "new" account and number of posts reflect my view of the site development.
I spend some time on a specific car-model-forum, and I enjoy that other members don't point out that the new Mondeo is better equipped, Toyota has better reliability, Honda has a superior engine etc - in every thread.

I used to be a regular but my interests expanded. I don't think it's in the control of the people behind beoworld. My experience is that B&O has lost alot of it's "soul" that i used to love it for. Now it just seems more like a money making machine, pleasing as many wallets as possible
I have interests/hobby in three main products with the leading forums of each. They have a similar set of mojo/no mojo about them:-
· Aston Martin Motor Cars
· Leica Cameras
· Bang and Olufsen
The main forums for these products are all filled with similar types of people we see here on Beoworld and all in many ways have very similar cross-section of behaviours:-
· The Fanboys
· Those that cant and/or won’t pay for them and want ever cheaper, ever “better”.
· The critical-no-matter-what..
· The remorseful buyer
· The Tech-head/Spec- head
· Those that want more and more new things…
· Those that want more of the old things…
· Those that want more modern things in old things…
· Those that think the products are falling behind the competition
· Those that want to garner knowledge and experience of their hobby and share info…
Whichever they are, you can see what proportion you may belong to and to those that you dont.
At the end of the day – the forums are not really that essential to anything – they are there just for fun and/or for frustration and we should all really get on with our lives in the real world and enjoy the products we choose for the experiences and pleasure they give us individually. That is why I don’t contribute as often as I used to here on Beoworld. Life is really too short to worry about product spects, sample rates, or the latest software etc...

I also visit forums for my other interests, which are watches and cars.
B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.
Well, well - reading and writing on the Beoworld forum does not keep me away from 'the real world'.
It is part of my 'real world', and doesn't either keep me away from 'enjoying the products I choose........'.
I respect the opinion of "Mr 10Percent" - but it is his, not mine.

Lost its Mojo? Of course it has. Everything does eventually! Including me!
Seriously, all is good! Companies change. Products change. People change. Nothing new. Carry on!
elephant: Leica -you have basically two choices...
1.) The l-camera forum a/k/a LUF (the unofficial, official forum): www.l-camera-forum.com
2.) The rangefinder forum a/k/a RFf (much more than just Leica): www.rangefinderforum.com

BeoWorld has not lost its Mojo with Mr 10Percent still around.
Great to hear from you, Mr 10Percent - as always.

These people let me feel being at home - at least at "Beohome"...:-), people that really understand Beo.

Søren Mexico: Jonathan: vikinger: ... the isolation of the Wednesday thread has reduced it to a handful of regulars making occasional posts as they go about their other Wednesday night interests. The problem with the wednesday thread is that those regulars are too regular. It's very difficult to join in and really feel included as the wednesday people have their own jokes and almost their own 'language' As a non English speaker, I have been there a couple of times, but you will have to have English as your natural language, if not you are lost there. For me it was difficult to follow the jokes and their special way of humor, and when I understood something, and found a funny answer, the forum had moved far forward and my answer was obsolete.

At it's peak the Wedthred had over 350 posts per single evening - I can assure you that it wasn't just you that fell behind whilst taking time to draft a reply it was everybody, to the extent that there could be several conversations taking place simultaneously in the same thred. To Jonanthan's point yes, there is history and so funny stories that people recall which, to a newcomer maybe seem bewildering, as in Elephant's example of the "buttered horse" story. But that's true of visiting any new group anywhere, whether it be photography, knitting, Ferret racing or Bog Snorkelling.
I would love to post a thred in a foreign language but due to my severe lack of ability I can only apologise and tell you that this isn't going to happen anytime soon.
I would however point out that you shouldn't let this put you off from calling in and having a chat, we are a friendly bunch and haven't knowingly ever killed anyone! I can appreciate it may be a little intimidating but no more so than you first post on any forum, there will always be some there who have been around a while and "know more" than you - just think of your first tentative posts on Beoworld General forum - be brave pop by and say hello, you never know, you may end up liking it!!
The way I like to describe the Wedthred is a group of people sat around a table in a pub, drink in hand, and engaging in typical pub banter/chat/discussion/punchup. It has always, always been lighthearted and fun, no one has ever left either bloodied or humiliated - there's really nothing to fear.
The "rules" are that the chat does not include B&O, hifi, tech in general, cars, watches or any other collectables to prevent the discussion deteriorating into a stream of catalogue or chassis numbers etc . and really putting people off! It has happened and it was really dreary for those that aren't into the same stuff, so general topics it is. Normally there is a question in the opening post which you can answer to get the thing rolling and generally the conversation takes on a life of it's own after a few have responded and off it goes. It kicks of at 7pm UK time. Tonight I will post a link in the general forum to take you there if you fancy dropping by to see how it goes, - all are welcome.
Ban boring signatures!
I shall add that the WedThred runs nowadays (unfortunately) on a completely different forum incarnation, so don't be surprised if your personal info (such as avatar, nickname) isn't the same as on the main forum if you have changed them in the recent years. You'll need to change them separately over there if you wish.

WeedThred or WedThred - that's the question.
Millemissen: WeedThred or WedThred - that's the question. MM
Only the people that want to need turn up!

Daft questions are more easily accommodated on the Wedthred.
HAHA! that could be read two ways...

As a long-time B&O enthusiast, I think Beoworld is great.
I enjoy browsing the conversations and whenever I have the occasional question on configuration or settings people are quick to help with good advice. This helps me get more enjoyment out of my B&O set-up which is for me key purpose.
I understand different people want different things from a forum, but it works for me!
best, Rob
