The update is now available.  It actually is a later version than the one that FlatpanelsHD had for their review.

I've installed it but haven't had a chance to check the improvements.  Anyone notice the benefits?

A good idea would be to have a standing thread about the updates for the Avant so it would be easy to get notifications about it - and not clutter up all of BeoWorld with many many threads about the same thing :).

I look forward to trying the update out. I guess this also means updates for the other units on the same platform (V1/BV11)/BSys4).

Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2,
BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century,
BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i,
BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40,
BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)

My V1 got the update (1.0.7.36015) today.

Haven't noticed anything spectacular so far - apart from support for the BeoRemoteOne.

"Different Improvements and smaller bugfixes - Correction of a problem with a too dark screen" (translated from danish).

No changes to 'auto-muting the screen' with Spotify and music in HomeMedia.

Nothing new (that I could find) in WebMedia.

And no 'NetRadio' No - thumbs down

If you did not already knew that it's a new SW, you would not notice it.

If anyone has a beolink gateway attached press the 'home control' from the list and see if it does anything yet?

fixed in Homemedia:

shift in channel spectrum in 5.1 lpcm or flac file is corrected; the central channel is were it should be (as the others)

4.0 & 5.0 surround files are now supported;

88.2 kHz Flac file is supported

i wonder if that also goes for audio over HDMI as discussed in this thread:

The update took almost 20 minutes on my avant and seem to have fixed the problem I had with the light sensor/backlight - but I have to watch it for a few days to be sure.

Not sure but feels like sound and picture are a bit out of sync - but might be me that is tired.

On V1 I noticed update went considerable quicker. It also has DMR now (digital media renderer).

No BeoPlay S8 profiles which I find strange (even if it is BeoLab 14..).

There is at least one improvement I noticed in Homemedia during audio listening: the cover is no (again!) displayed in high resolution.

tried an older Oppo. No sound with a Neil Young DVDA in 176.4 kHz. Sound, but distorted, when playing SACD. Note: input Mch SACD - BV11 displays Input  PCM 2ch.

@carolpa: I sat the OPPO to do all the decoding and send the processed sound as (multi channel) PCM to the BeoVision. Works great.

Correct Roger!

But BV11 doesn't play 88.2 or 176,4 kHz resolution through hdmi.

When I use the Oppo BRP103 I have sound because the Oppo resamples the signals to 24bit 48 kHz. If I feed the BV11 the same format with an Oppo DV981HD or Oppo BDP83 I get the situation as discribed.

Before the BV11 I had a BS3/BV4 combi. All LPCM formats were reproduced when processed by the Bluray player.

What hickups? Do you use the wifi connection? I found that it works very badly and switched to ethernet which works much better. Haven't had problems with radio hickups in the old firmware - but some stations would not work all the time.

I use ethernet to but i have hikups every few minutes. I'm not the only one in the Netherlands. I have no trouble on my Denon receiver but with the Avant it's anoying.
