Hi there,

I just purchased a B&O 5500 System and I am having trouble with the MCP.

Everything works, except the number panel and the play/stop/search buttons etc. when the CD and tape are playing.

The Beomaster 5500 (amp) is receiving the signal (the little red light comes up on the panel) but nothing happens. I have changed batteries as well, unplugged the system and turned it back on.

I am confused because the number panel works and lets me go through the different stations on the radio. Also, there is no problem with adjusting the sound or choosing between the different AUX settings.

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers.

I have a 5000 MCP in storage ... so this from memory !

The buttons should work for the CD especially if they work for moving between radio stations.

Similarly a # should change a station or change a track. Not sure what you mean by search .... perhaps >> ?

However they only work for BeoMaster and it's radio then perhaps the issue is your DIN cable ?

Does it have all the pins ? Because there are data / control signals that are sent over the cable.

There are some DIN plug / pin diagrams on the BeoTech sister web site that may help you with some insight into the cabling.

My thought as well.  Unplug the CD and tape from the receiver and count the number of pins.  How many?

How many pins should there be for this to work?

If there are only five in a half circle then the control data and data ground pins are missing.
