I'm completely new to this forum, so thanks for reading and hello there.

Me and my partner have recently bought a Beocenter 2002 and separately got hold of a pair of Type M loudspeakers which are 3-5ohm, and the person we got them from told us they measured 3.6ohm on their multimetre.

We boldly connected everything and much to our surprise everything's working together; alas I'm too scared to turn the volume up higher than 1 (!)

Is this going to be incredibly short-lived? Hmm I am reluctant to continue usage as I fear the ohm is way too low for the Beocenter.

I'm a complete novice (clearly!) and would really appreciate some advice - do we ditch the speakers?

Thanks for reading,

cheers.

Welcome to Beoworld !

Not the ideal combination but it will work.
The 1980s Beocenter will sound better with more modern speakers (Beovox S40 and up)  and
the 1960s Type M speakers will give much better results if used with a tube amplifier.
Don't ditch the speakers, if in fair condition they are easily worth more than the Beocenter.
