Hi beoworld, just bought a beovision type 9334, it was sold to me as a HD model but when I got it home and set up I couldn't find a hdmi input. Does anyone know if it is HD?
7-32 MK3 version HD Ready
It's a Mk3. I assume the Serial Number starts with 19 or 20?
It's 720p HD, but it's the first generation of HD panels of which B&O dropped the ball on in terms of connectivity...
You'll need a Male DVI / Female HDMI converter block or a Male HDMI to Male DVI lead to connect a HDMI equipped source to the DVI socket. However, that's only the picture sorted (and you'll also lose the electronic curtain feature doing this..) - and you'll need to input sound to the TV via Scart Lead or component.
Running a good HD source the image will be very good. The Mk3 screen was a vast improvement on the Mk2 and the Mk3 is the minimum standard really...
Mk4 adds inbuilt SD Freeview as standard, and the Mk5 then adopted 2 x HDMI sockets - which was too little, too late.. and they sold in very small numbers. These are quite rare (the Mk5) and command quite a premium over the Mk4.
Anyway - if you got the Mk3 at the right money (and they're cheap now!) you'll have a lovely TV for very little outlay.

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.
Paid too much!
Hi Harry,
if it's a mk3 you're okay. I have a 7-32 mk3 and it's a great TV.
To view digital HD 720p you need to input the video signal to the DVI-I socket & audio separately. I connect an Apple TV3 via and HDMI to DVI-I cable very successfully. Audio needs to be converted to coax so needs a small powered adapter.
hope you get digital soon!
best, Rob
Hi Harry
how do you get sound out of your tv as the dvi only carries picture from the apple tv
thanks in advance
