Has anybody worked out a way to share a DVI input to a coax linked TV?
Think I've worked that one out. I'll split the DVI and run a DVI-I to both TVs. The sound will come through the MasterLink.

Ok, when you say i'll not be able to remote, why?
Currently I have a BeoLab 3500 linked to the BV7 and I can control the Mac completely through it. Should this not be the same through the BC6?
I was working on the principle that I'd just be missing the picture, with no loss of control.
Thanks, Andrew.
Oh and with a 10m cable.... I could be stretching things a bit....

Ah ok, think I understand. So long as I can get the picture and sound then the remote part I can control from my phone.

Ah... now I do understand.
Thanks, for the clarification. Might be easier to just get a second old Mac. ;-)
Better send that cable back then.
Right so after a lot of messing about with this issue, it seems the only way i'm going to get this to work is to some how convert a output from the MacMini to SCART. I've tried it with an old laptop with S-Video out and while the picture was terrible, it worked.
So does anybody if there is a converter for DVI to SCART?? I know there will not be a straightforward cable, but there must be something????
You might use a box like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Lenkeng-Converter-Adapter-Downscaler-projector/dp/B008F29OIE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1412584543&sr=8-3&keywords=Hdmi++to+scart+converter
with a DVI to HDMI adapter - and you would have to run the sound seperately.
But don't expect too much from the picture you get!

There is a tv - and there is a BV

I used this one for my PS3 to BV5 and was actually quite impressed with the picture quality of it.

Dave.
Now that's more like the thing. What did you do with the audio?
AndrewEcosse: Now that's more like the thing. What did you do with the audio? Thanks, Andrew.
I didn't need to do anything. The sound was fine through the BV5 with the adapter. Through a link system, I couldn't say. All I know is that the PS3 picture was fine through this.
I'm just jinxed with hardware slightly out of date. Your right, the display port also sends the audio. Or it would on the next model MacMini than mine. Hay ho. I've ordered a converter like you suggested which sounds like it will deal with the picture. I should be able to adapt the scart to get an analogue input.
Thanks for the advise, maybe this will work in the end.

The specs of the Ligawo converter say, that HDMI audio will be converted to analog stereo audio in SCART plug.
BVs can send analog (scart) audio to the RF modulator. So it should work in linksystem....
Stefan
Yup, but my MacMini display port does not send the audio too...
;-)
One think i'll be interested to see is what actually happens when all this is connected up... so i'll have the mac mini connected to the BV7 via DVI and phono audio in (AV4). Now i'll also have it connected through the SCART. Will the current audio into the BV7 be passed through the masterlink to the BV6??
I've a Sky HD box connected to the BV7 with the component and scart. The BV7 takes the HD picture from component and the audio from the scart. The the BV6 gets the lot from the scart.
Life must be very dull when you buy kit that just connects together without issue. :-)
Right so at last i've this sussed, thanks to Dave. I could not find a supplier selling the one you recommended, but got one of ebay. One issue is with my MacMini the audio is not sent with the mini display. So I spliced the headphone audio out directly into the scart. All works fine, Audio and DVI into the BV7 is great, to the BV6 is ok. Setting the MacMini to mirror seems to be the best way to get it to work. The BV6 not being HD is a slight issue as the resolution is poor. And colours very washed out. The scart cable is a cheep one to see if it would work. Now that it does i'll get a better one and see if that improves things. When PLEX is running movies look great.
And to boot the audio works well.
So all in all, could be better, but at least works as I wanted.
:-) Thanks for all the help.
Nice to have a resolution to a problem and to get to hear about it. I may have sourced my convertor from eBay too.
Hallo
I dont know if it will help you but I have the following setup in my house
as a main tv in the dinner sitting room bv10-32 and in the living room bv10-46 its a big open room 2 floors but you can only operate one tv at the time otherwise you would hear the other one, but thats not what im refering to.
both tv and the one in the bed room are conected to one samsung stb-bluray box via hdmi
I splitet the hdmi from 1 to 4 and the 4 outputs i aded a hdmi to cat5 converter and the puc cabels from each tv are ran back to the stb so i can control the box from each room (in the setup i told the tvs not to switch off the box so its always on)
I can even pause the tv programm on the tv in the living room switch off the tv and go to bead switch on the tv an continue watching in the bedroom
it is not to hard to install and even cheap to
by the way you can get a hdmi to cat 5 converter whitch runs the hdmi signal in one direction and the ir signal in the other one so you dont have to extand the puc cabels ( able up to 50-60m)
