Hi,

have been thinking about getting a Beolab 3500 and wrap it in gold. E.g. using this wrap:

http://www.ezautowrap.com/products/chrome-gold-mirror-vinyl

Wondered if anyone has tried a similar project and what you would think of it? (frets would be changed to gold as well...)

Just awful or great?

My B&O products: Beosound 9000, Beosound 2300, Beosound Century, Beolab 8000, Beolab 6000, Beolab 4000 x2, Beolab 3500, Beolab 2000, Beolab 10, Beolink Active x2, Beotime, Beo5 x2, Beo4, A9 keyring x2, LC2 dimmer x6 and growing....

Looks ok to me but one tiny bit if dust under and it becomes annoying to look at.

Each to their own.  If it's what you fancy, go for it. B&O did gold BL4000's and there has been a gold BS9000 in the past.  If it suits your decor etc, why not.  If it goes on BMW's and Audi's it should be OK on a smaller speaker.  The air removing channels should help stop any problems of dust.

Dave.

Actually, I have been looking for a pair of Beolab 4000s in gold for a good while (have two pairs in silver and I love this speaker) but they are a little to much in the room (a hallway). So I reckoned that going for a Beolab 3500 would be better. This is also the only room in our flat where the walls are not white but instead yellow/sand which makes the fit much better (discrete?). I would also like to have a pair of speakers in another color and gold is a Beolab classic.

Thanks for the support, just have to talk my wife into it now. Smile

I have gold Beolab 4000s is a yellow painted room and they blend in nicely - the mirror finish means they are not too gaudy - I am not a big fan of gold items but in this particular room, they look jolly good!
