I have gotten hold of a cheap bl7000 remote where the two-way communication doesn't work..

I have changed the backup battery, and also changed all the capacitors according to the good threads here, but still no luck :(

There are 2 more caps of the 6.8uF / 6.3v type in the remote, one behind the display, and one on the bottom PCB board... Should I change these also?

i have done som measuring, and there are approx 4.8v over the capacitors, except one of the 22uF SMD's and the 4,7uF behind the farraday cage :) the SMD has 0v and the 4,7uF 0,5v.... Anyone With a working remote that could measure these ? :)

Any good ideas ? I have found an old ir-eye, and it seems to contain the exact same IC as the bl7000 receiver, so maybe I should try to change that ?

Thanx :)

And now it works... :)

Thanks to the other thread where Franck fixes an LC2 light-dimmer, I managed to figure out the receiver circuit for the BL7000 receiver... It is 99% the same as the receiver in the LC2, and.... here it comes, B&O uses the same U2506B IC on almost all of their IR receiver circuits :)

So.. in the middle of the night, I looked at the old IR link-room eye I had, and it contained 99% the exact same ciruit as the LC2/BL7000..

Unsoldered all caps and the IC from BL7000 and the link-eye, cleaned all the junk from the leaked capasitors on the bl7000 board, and re-soldered the IC I took from my link eye(which is not used)... put the caps back in...And..... VIOLAAA!! :)

So now it works with full two-way com, and a new backup battery.. I cannot say if it really was the IC that was the problem, or a short ciruit caused by the leaking caps..

Now I just need to decide if I should replace the backlight as it is getting a bit dark..

Very good Jacob, congratulations.

You think you could show us a picture of that specific IC area?

I did do an exercise on replacing the backlight with success.

A picture of the old corroded IC in place, and a picture of the clean area after the IC has been removed..

Okay, you mean that chip. Never had any problems with that component regarding 2-way functionality except for the caps.

No, and I dont know if that was actually done for, it might just have been a short caused by the leaking capasitors, I don't know :) But now it works ..
