Which CD player to go with a BM8000/BG8002/BC9000/M100?

Most of you would say CDX but I was stupid enough to sell the one I had a couple of years ago.

I'm choosing between BG CD3300 and BG CD50. I think the CD50 is the best visual choice (best looking together with the others) but I think the CD3300 i the best sounding.

Any thoughts

The problem will be operating it - the CD50, unless you have the very rare remote kit, has limited controls. I would therefore go for the other though a CDX is what I used to use. The CDX2 is the same deck as the 3300 but looks better.

Well, I have the CD50, CD5500, CD3300, and CD4500 so it has to be one of those.

If you can manage to find a CD Terminal, I've got a spare IR module for the CD50.

I would use the 4500 as it is the prettiest!

It took me six months to find one and I had to have it imported from Struer!

I managed to find one by doing a Google picture search!

Do you mean this terminal,:

I may have 2 but I'm not sure if they work as I don't use them!

Dave.

I think it is someone's lucky day! Those are reputedly as rare as hens' teeth!

Since Dave lives in France too, he ought to send it to me so that I can test it. Don't worry, mine is mint! Stick out tongue

Then I can send both module and remote to you Bo.

But first do make sure that the CD50 works, because fixing it is most definitely not for the faint-hearted...

Somebody should also digitize the codes in any of the common universal remote formats (Pronto, Logitech, whatever) to save them for posterity.

I can do that I suppose. My Harmony remote has a learning function, so the code can be sent to Logitech.

CD50 under operation. Seems to work ok except the load/unload. Cleaning, lubricating and a new belt will take care of that

Here we go then!

Best of luck, and do not forget the motor lubrication.

Inside CD50. One can suspect that Yamaha built the the stuff. A nice DAC from Burr & Brown.
