ouverture beosystem 2500 and beocentre 2000 amp sound problem

Hello

i have connected a beosystem 2500 ouverture to a beocentre 2000 amp using a 5 pin din from the cd player to the tape din input on the beocentre  and the sound is really quiet - do you know if this might be because of the cable or something else - the sound from the amp is normally much louder when i play my records on my record player which is connected to the amp with a din cable
