Hi got the above tv with a terrest card in it , I live in france, got the terrest French working, it comes up on dtv, - satellite ,free to air via external box/hdmi - comes up as tv - silly question, can the functions be reversed, ie tv for French service and dtv for satellite, if so, how? Have looked at the handbooks but cannot find a system to do thisor is it a function of programming of the joystick beo4
I work on the KISS principle - Keep it Simple Stupid
Have a look at page 10 and page 15/16 in the user guide.
If you deactivate the internal analog tuner, you can use the tv button for another source (probably already is).
If you want to make changes, best first change the HDMI used for the external box to none - in order to free the button for your internal terrestial tuner.
Then assign that to TV.
Afterwards you can assign the external to DTV.
This is all done in the onscreen menu - no programming of the Beo4 needed.
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
Ok, but page 16 source list indicates DTV occupied by the dvb card if active which is what I have got, no mention of any other assignment possibility!
Just try out, what I have described - in that order.
Usually I assign the TV button to the HD-tuner (in my case the terrestrial) and the DTV to an external source.
In my own case an AppleTV-box, but it could be any(external)thing with HDMI.
OK later or tomorrow morning!

In France they very early changed to digital terrestrial tv/DVB/DTT(2005).
That is the reason, why I was assuming that Scotty1111 does not need the analog tuner.
I am quite sure, that the analog terrestrial broadcast has been shut down by now there.
I have never seen a BV7-40 MK6 without a built-in HD-module!
As I wrote: personally I have my HD tuner assigned to the TV button and the ATV-box to DTV on both tv's - no problems there.

Hi Räuber,
are you sure about that?
Deactivating the analog tuner makes the HD tuner accessable with the TV-button.
That is how it works on my BV8-40 - and (if my memory serves me well) that is what I have experienced on BV7's (MK4 and up) too.
Could you try it on your BV7?
My experiences with the BV7-versions are all from Denmark - it would have been impossible to sell a BV7-40 MK6 there without a HD-module!
A lot of the owners of the earlier MK's have had their tv's upgraded with the module.
Might be different in Germany, where satelite reception is far more common than in DK.

Well then I will have to withdraw my explanation(s) from above
I was pretty sure, that it was/is so in the newer BV7 versions too.
Thanks for testing - for clarifying!
It seems that the 10/8 is built on a more 'more modern' platform
With the new (BSys4-based) tv's we have full control over assigning the sources to whatever button, we like.
And the Remote One (like it or not) again brings new functionality for accessing one's sources - but that is a different theme.
A pity for Stotty1111 that his 'problem' could not be solved - but after all there are bigger problems!
I did not want to start a discussion (here) on the pros and cons of the Remote One - there are other threads for that. Generally I see 'good' and 'bad' things about the One. I'd probably stick to the Beo4 (with navi), even if I would get an Avant - but you never know....
I suppose you'd noticed my smiley, as I was writing about 'more modern system'?
I think it makes no sense to argue about one of those systems being 'more modern' - they are different, and some things are definitely better with one of them and vice versa.
As for the button assignment - I have always thought that it must be more logical to push a button with a TV on it, if I want to watch tv!
You must remember, that the (HD)tuner of my BV's covers all, that has to do with tv-watching in my case.
I need (and have) no external-whatsoever-box for that!
Having to assign the HD-module to DTV because of a HDR2 is totally out of my world - why the heck should I use that? If I missed something, I use the HbbTV service or (with the BV8-40) my iPad/ATV.
I lerned from times of VHS recording that, you hardly ever get to watch the things you have recorded - still have lots of (now useless) unseen video casettes in the basement.
But then again - we are different, and what works for me, does not have to work for you.
I think we can agree, that one of the best things about a B&O setup is, that it can be very flexible and versatile.
There is a setup for you, and there is one for me - and still it is definitely a B&O setup.
Have a nice weekend
Thanks guys for confirming my trials and tribulations have been futile! ;-))
My aged mother is moving here and I was just trying to simplify the tv operation, she used to use a late 6-26 with satellite(English) on dtv button by swapping button assignment - hey ho lifes a bu**er!
Hi all, its been some time, but now have a curtain problem with my 7-40, recently they have stopped opening when the tv is switched on, ie sound there, and assume the picture is also there as, by trying other buttons (PC, DVD etc )from a 'cold' start the curtains open and all works fine then trying the tv or DTV buttons the unit continues as normal.
I am looking for a solution to this problem or suggestions how to solve it!
I am in Finistere in france and my nearest B&O outlet is over 100 miles away, Rennes.
