Hi Everyone,
I am new to the Beoworld forum and Bang & Olufsen so please forgive my ignorance.
I have a Beosound 3000 linked to a Beolab 3500 with a Masterlink cable both in the same room. The system plays CD's and the radio works fine but I cannot adjust the volume, either manually on the Beosound 3000 or using a Beo4 remote control.
The volume level indicator on the 3000 shows the volume level going up when you increase the volume and vice versa when you decrease it, but the volume from the 3500 speaker remains at the same level all the time.
Can anybody give me some advice please.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.
Some more recent Beolab 3500 had a Powerlink socket. Could you check if that's the case.
If the Beolab 3500 has a Powerlink socket, you should connect them via the powerlink as opposed to the Masterlink.
If not let us know and we'll find a workaround.

When looking to see if yours has a Powerlink socket, make sure it is Powerlink and not the Master Control Link (MCL) that all older BL3500s came with (the two sockets look suspiciously like each other).
But hfat's suggestion should work for you without needing further cables.

Hi, I wondered if you can give me some more advice.
I disconnected my Beosound 3000 from the Beolab 3500 and moved it from the kitchen into the lounge.
I bought a pair of Beolab speakers for the lounge and tried them out by connecting them to my Beosound 3000 using some B&O powerlink cables. I turned everything on and put a CD on and the speakers worked great. Lovely sound.
I tried to adjust the volume using the Beo4 remote but nothing happened. I tried to adjust the volume using the buttons on the Beosound 3000 and still nothing happend. So although I am getting great sounds from the system I dont seem to be able to adjust the volume up or down.
I am also thinking of buying a pair of Beolink Wireless 1's to try and link the kitchen to the lounge wirelessly so I can get the music coming out of the Beolab 3500 and 6000 at the same time.
What do you reckon.

Hi Garry,
If you have changed the setup like you have, you need to change the option settings as the ones hfat gave you were for the specific setup you first asked about. Someone with better knowledge will tell you which options you need now.
I have Wireless 1s and they work fairly well however there are some important things you need to know.
BOTH Wireless 1 must be running the same software version or they will not link up together, in case you were thinking of buying them separately as you may find you have to.
Your Wireless 1s will need the correct software version too as not all versions support the connection of a Beolab 3500. The Beolink Wireless requires version 2.0 or above for full Masterlink capability.
You also need to be aware that only newer Beolab3500's are wireless compatible. (from s/n 19343452 on I believe).

With Beolabs connected to BS3000 via Powerlink and a BL3500 connected via Masterlink in a different (link) room (and no Beovision connected), I`d set the whole system to standby and set the BS3000 to A.OPT 1 (audio option) and BL3500 to L.OPT 5 (link option).
If you have just bought a second life BS3000 that was previously connected to a Beovision and no Beolabs connected it may be "TV operated" which means it defaults to A.OPT 0 when no Beolabs connected. In this setup all functions will work without volume control. Volume control will be executed by the Beovision.
