Hello, I am new member here and also new to B&O world - so far only H3 headphones and A3 to save my old iPad2 from doing nothing. In both cases, especially with H3, I am delighted with sound stage, details and balanced sound.
Now I decided I'll start saving for my first pair of proper speakers. :D
Looking into new WISA Beolab 17 for convenience, but then I see Beolab 3 has acoustic lens techology and is a bit more expensive (+/- 10%) so I wonder is it superior in terms of sound quality? It is intended to be listened in a relatively small room 25m2 for a variety of music genres from electronic to jazz and top40.
Wireless functionality is of course very convenient, however I would regret to invest substantially and not get the best sound quality for the money - even if that means handling wires potentially...
Many thanks for all opinions and suggestions. :)
have a listen to both at a store if you can. I did a few months back and thought the BL17 was crisper and had fairly good bass, even without the subwoofer. The BL3 sounded quite nice with the BL19, but alone not as much.

The Beolab 17 looks like an Apple product, and I think B&o did that on purpose.
Personally, I would prefer a B&O product...

Never thought of it that way - I guess it depends on the wiever.
To me it is a 'new generation B&O product'.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
...so I'll check on BeoLab 17 hopefully on Wed in Graz, Austria as B&O dealer in Zagreb dont have any.
Glad to hear rxcohen that BL17 sounds crisper (I was hopeful for a more prominent bass by default).
I guess btw Apple-like look comes from the polished aluminum?
BeoBoy68:Actually, you can get a BeoSound Essence free either !
...not sure exactly how to benefit from it fully as I'm mostly streaming from Deezer (Essence supports only Spotify), but I guess if I get it for free eventually I'll find a way to utilize it.
I was early surprised by how powerful the BL17 was. To be fair I did not have a chance to listen to it at a lower sound level to better grasp the sound definition, which is also important. And in person the BL17 design is quite nice and better than in pictures...not iconic like the BL18 or BL8000, but very fitting for its size.
I've had beolab 17s they really are fantastic speakers with a very nice rich bass clarity and definition.

Hi,
sorry, I can not give you advice about BL17 or BL3 but ...
As you said, you will check BL17 tomorrow in Graz. Do it, but maybe, if you have a time, you could visit this seller and check this old vintage system too
I mean, your username here is AnalogPlanet so it could be much more "Analog" as any of the Beolab speaker sets
You would have 4 very good sounding (passive) speakers, one of the best sounding Beomaster and the beautifull Turntable BG4002 for the fraction of the price you have to pay the Labs....
Ever thought this way?
And no, I am not the seller but I have a similar setup and can gently recommended those devices
Pozdrav za Zagreb,

As analog as my music history is, today's typical daily schedule brought me to mostly streaming from either my iPhone or iPad. All records gone already long time ago. BL 17 is actually also attractive because of the wireless sound and that fits well into a "cableless" big picture I am hoping for in my apartment.
But thank for the suggestion, I plan to buy some other things too so I'll check. Greetings to you too Theomaster.
Had the opportunity to listen to BL 17, I am delighted and now I just need to "jump".
Besides that, I've been told there is a 75" Beovision Avant planned to be announced in January (I take that would be CES in LV, right?) for the price of 13.900 EUR without stand. No 65" in product pipeline.
