So I've bought one from eBay.  It's cosmetically in good condition but not working (which I knew)

Opened it up and the belts were loose.

Everything seems there.

The buttons were off, and I've tried to see if the contacts were all sticky but they look ok.

The main belt spins constantly.   The arm belt doesn't move.

The lights are on the controls, and the mirror, but not the arm.

None of the buttons seemingly do anything at all.

Anything easy to try first?  I will be finding a local electronic repair.

Any assistance much appreciated.

After playing with the contacts a bit the buttons now work.  Lights switch between 33/45, arm moves around.  Turns off and on.

Main belt slips though.  Anyone know where to find one?

Will give it a good clean tomorrow.  Looking hopeful though.

Lid has a big crack near the hinge.   Anyone tried glueing?

get a new belt set from member Dillen on this forum.

I suggest you start a conversation with him.

Thanks Dillen is going to sort me a definitely correct one, I've bought one off eBay meantime

Still can work out why the arm drops an inch before the record.  I can then manually place the arm on, and then at the end of the record the arm returns automatically correctly.

In the service manual it mentions diaphragm setup but it looks as if that is more fine adjustment - this is something just way off.   Or am I being a div?

The sewing machine oil comes tomorrow but everything seems pretty smooth no squeaks.

Just the arm doesn't drop in the right place.   The light on  the sensor is on.

As ever any assistance much appreciated cheers

So the belt was me just being a div and connecting it properly.  There was nowhere in the manual for thaT!  It now works well spins at exactly the right speed.

sounds great too

the only thing remaining is the automatic drop is about 2cm off it just turns on and drops almost straight away.

i can easily adjust using the arrows but would like to get it spot on.

the arm returns at the end of the record it's just the finding the edge of the record initially

any ideas?

all assistance appreciated
