Hello guys

I have a Beomaster coming, it has issues.

what I have learned so far, all the lights work.

It will go in and out of standby,

FM 1 does not respond to touch, im understanding the other functions do.

It has a very low but detectable output on headphones.

Im thinking possible FM1 touch circuit issue, and assuming that it is simply not coming out of mute.

Im thinking ill start a thread and update it as I go, Any ideas or comments welcome please.

I have a 1900 that I play everyday, never had any issues, bought second hand. I love the sound of it, very nice and pleasant. running on Dynaco A25's.

The second I got for a decent price, so Id like to get it fixed, it's too beautiful.

You will have to start with changing caps, lamps and some trimmers. cleaning contacts and overall cleaning. then go from there.

You should think about  getting a pair of S45-2 or a pair of P45s to listen to something really good, and fitting for your BM 1900.

Hi Bob,

as Soren says, those replacement components are the first place to start along with a clean, deoxit etc - even though the lamps operate it doesn't mean they are the correct ones - incorrect lamps if they've been replaced previously can cause all sorts of issues as has been discussed on here before.  I think member 'Dillen' has the correct lamp and cap kit for this model.

Keep us updated.

Dave.

Yes, I used Martin's bulbs myself.

 Thanks guys.

Im thinking the same thing, starting off with a refresh and fact finding.

The 1900 is supposed to be in excellent physical condition, just has a few gremlins to sort out.

My personal 1900 works like a champ, im thinking it has never been touched, well as far as i know.

Id like it running in tip top shape also.

guys the 1900 arrived today !

The issues are, someone tried to service it if you can say that.

The issue of some functions not working, Solved. copper fingers not aligned.

All lights working fine.

The lack of output is being caused by the balance pot.

The treble pot is also not working, Im reading the issues there, they will be taken out and repaired.

ALSO the guy lost most of the screws holding the panels down/together so ill make a trip to the hardware store to find replacements.

So far so good. and peeling veneer, thats the easy fix.

For the slide potentiometers, Martin has a new repair set here

Thanks for the parts tip. I did fix the controls and she is working like a champ. I had to clean the FM3  slider, all is good there. And picked up screws to replace what was missing.

She is looking AND playing right now.

Guys

I ordered a set of the slider repair parts,  these solved the uneven bass, trebel, balance issues.

Im working on an intermittent  channel issue. A slight tap brings it back on, so there is a weak connection or  bad solder joint. just a little trouble shooting to go.

Other than that the 1900 is playing like a champ.
