That is a very good question !!

It`s what I`m waiting for since I use Spotify on my BS5.

I have the same question, with that functionality it would be a really good system!

Not at all impossible.

Currently listening to Spotify on iMac with airfoil, controlled through AirFoil Remote, and transmitting to my B&O through AirPlay.

Cover art displays perfectly.

Similar for me - including ML distribution to link rooms.

However requires my MacMini and I think the original question was directed to the BS5 and Spotify cover art of what was being played .....

I don't understand why BeoSound 5 cannot be fully controlled by an App. Loaded music and radio stations should be a given - if we could get Spotify control it would be sensational.

Here's hoping.

Incredible that this not is solved yet. I have been waiting for a smart integreated soulution like Sonos for several years. This must be easy to do with a MLGW and some smart box that injected the music to it and all controlled with the Beolink app.

Dear Claudiu,

Thank you for contacting Bang & Olufsen Customer Service.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to offer Beo6 two-way support for the Spotify source on BeoSound 5. I have made sure your feedback is forwarded to the development department and I will inform you, should any changes be implemented.

Have a lovely day.

Are you using Essence to distribute your music? I have Playmakers in three locations. Any benefit to Essence for the system described above?

I'm just trialling Deezer, having used Spotify for a year or so. My question is and considering the Moment is using Deezer apparently, why wasn't Qobuz selected considering it's far higher level of download quality? Would I really notice the difference with some Beolab 5's streaming Qobuz quality downloads, over Deezer or Spotify?

Would make an interesting experiment.

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

I am pure ML at the moment.

I expected to go Essence (having trailed a PlayMaker mk I) however on closer inspection I decide not to.

(I really should change my Avatar Smile)

Now I am waiting ... waiting ... still waiting ... for the multi-room answer to Essence.

(I am confused as to whether this may or may not be the much rumoured Moment)

I hope BO very soon will come with a good alternative to ML. I did my last ML purchasement last month by buying one of the last BV10-32. The past 15 years I have bought one or two new ML products each year but now it will end and there are not yet any good alternative that will give the same feeling regarding to the basic installation and functionality just connect the ML cable and set the option and up and running.

I am afraid you won't see that simplicity any more.

Everyone is waiting for way more functionalities/possibilities, than we have had with ML - that is the big challenge.

By the way - we already have THE alternative to ML, it's called NL.

How to control 'things' in a NL-setup will be the interesting part.

You did not miss anything!

We - indeed - are waiting for a NL compatible audio device, but the successor of the ML already is there, the NL.

And - what is audio and what is video nowadays? The Avant 'can' Netradio, Spotify/Deezer and audio via DLNA.

I miss a NL-based BeoLink Active, more than I miss a 'NL-BS'!

NL is there but there is unfortunateley to much that is missing and it is unfortunataley to complicated to manage for the rest of the family and there is no basic modern videolink and no music LN products. I belive that BO has hard to find the modern red line again concerning one of their most successful product, the Beolink system.

The NL/ML converter has an active kit built in.

For about the same money that the old active kit was?

Hi mjmedio,

that is something I know - and have written about several times.

I did not mention it, because it is an 'extra feature' of a device, that is meant for something else (bridging ML and NL).

If you can get me one of these (including ir-eye) for the price of the 'old' Active BeoLink, please send me a pm.

I'll take 5 of them for that price Whistle

I recalled the ML active being priced about 700 to 800 US.

The ML/NL converter I purchased was 890.

Now a second hand ML active is much more affordable these days.

But I think a new one is still around 700 isn't it?

I do realize that new ML/NL converter is more expensive, but it does have many more features.

Maybe you are thinking of the price for the 'BeoLink Passive'?

The NL/ML Converter is round about at double the price for the BeoLink Active kit - and then you must add the price for the ir-eye to it too.

I still think we need a 'NL-BeoLink Active', or a 'NL-BeoLink speakers product' (similar to the BL3500/2000.....). Maybe even more than a dedicated NL-BeoSound system.
