Hi everyone

Manage to pick up some fabulous Mk2 8000's from our equally fabulous dealer, and am experimenting with them connected to our 7-55. When I stream Spotify to the 7-55 I also press "picture mute", and the 7-6 turns itself off leaving the 8000's to do their thing.

Question, if I wanted to "picture mute" but keep the 7-6 on how would I do it?

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

Try speaker 3.

another tip (works on my bv10 link tv) is av-vmem (which is my apple tv) which then only starts up the connected bl3 so i don't have to perform a picture mute and then i can airplay anything to atv.  I just checked and there also I can select speaker 1 to 3.

In your speaker menu can't you just set the speaker group for 'audio'to use the speakers that you want?  I'm sure I've done that on mine.  Maybe it depends on the source used to stream Spotify?

Dave.

Thanks, I've set everything to speaker 3. When on Sky or Apple TV, the 7-6 is the master with the 8000's supporting

When I press "picture mute" now the 8000's become the master, with the 7-6 supporting ever so subtly. It doesn't bother me at all, as its a very good effect even with Spotify. It just seemed a bit of waste to not having the 7-6 doing its thing. The Music Playback settings in Spotify have an equaliser in them, which is handy as after listening to six months of boom and bass from the A9, the 8000's seemed a little flat.

Beolab 5's next, but probably after the Beoplay A2 and the MomentCool

I tried various times to open a new thread, but not succesfull So, let let me add to a related one.

I used to be able to use my BV5 as audio-only using the function "A.DVD2". Unfortunately, I now have to connect with "DTV" and no "A.DTV" is available (it just does not exist). P.Mute would be the logical alternative, but unfortunately, this does not blank the screen either when I connect the via "DTV".

Any idea how to get an audio-only working when connecting via "DTV"? As context, I am connecting a MacMini via DVI with Beo4 on "DTV".

Thanks!!!

There can`t be an A.DTV button. You find DTV as a hard button, so just add AV to your Beo4 list and select AV - and press DTV.

Now you have DTV source in audio mode (picture muted - speaker mode audio).

Thanks for your quick reply. I am so glad to read that there may be a solution to my issue. Can you elaborate more what you are suggesting me to do? Also, will this way allow to turn on the bv5 in audio-only mode?

When you press the 'LIST' button on your BEO4, keep pressing until you see 'AV' in the display.  If you don't have 'AV' you need to add it.

To add 'AV': press the red button and 'LIST' at the same time.  Your should see 'ADD?' on the display.  Press 'GO' and the display flashes and you will see an option such as 'EDIT, or 'REPEAT' etc.  Press the UP arrow until you see 'AV' on the display.  Press 'GO' and you now have the 'AV' option on your BEO4 so when you scroll through usinig LIST, AV will now be present.

When you want to do as you have described, press LIST until 'AV' is on the display and then the DTV button on your BEO4.

Dave.

Thanks for your help. This appears to work.

Just one question. How do I yet again switch back to "normal" DTV (with audio and video)?

;-) Of course, I had tried, but unfortunately, this does not work. Or are you saying that I need to double-add "DTV". Once as "direct press" and also need to add "DTV" as a list item?

'DTV' is a hardbutton.

'AV' is from the 'List'.

Unfortunately, I am still struggling to get this working properly. Facing two issues:

1) I can switch from "DTV" to "AV"/"DTV" and then have audio-only. Unfortunately, pressing "DTV" does not get me back to "DTV". What works is that I first switch to "DVD" and then switch back to "DTV". But that's not wanted behavior. Any idea whether there is any easier way to switch from audio-only DTV back to normal DTV?

2) I have the AppleRemote PUC activated and "DTV" works as an "play/pause" key. I.e., when I change to "AV"/"DTV", it actually starts a video to play. This issue is unrelated to the first one.

Thanks for your help!!!

Please do try if it works with another source!

I suppose that you have the tv-tuner activated on the 'TV' button.

From Standby:

'AV' (showing in the display of the Beo4) and then pushing 'TV' (hardbutton) - what happens? And afterwards just the 'TV' hardbutton - what happens?

What you described for how the AppleRemote PUC behaves, seems a bit odd to me.

Strange! Should work if:

- your BV is set to V.OPT 2

- internal DTV tuner is deactived (otherwise it should be greyed out in the connections menu)

- you do not have a connected audiosystem that confuses ir commands by wrongly set A.Option.

Could be useful to learn more about your setup - audio-/video products, speakers connected, linkrooms, option settings...

Thanks for your messages and offers to help.

Let me share more about my setup:

BV5 with DVI input (latest HD-ready model)
BC2 connected to it
MacMini connected over DVI (video) and stereo line-in (NOT digital 5.1 line-in)
Beo4
No speakers or anything fancy, no other B&O close-by

I tried what you suggested and it works with TV. I can switch TV audio-only and can switch it back to "normal" TV mode. For whatever reason, this does not work in the same way with "DTV".

I don't know how I can check whether my BV is set to V.OPT 2 and also not how to check my DTV tuner activation. I actually don't even know what a DTV tuner is.

Thanks in advance for any additional thoughs and help you have for me!

Very strange - I have replied earlier, but the reply disappeared.

I have tried what you suggested with "TV". Switching between "AV"/"TV" and "TV" works flawless. Between "AV/"DTV" and "DTV", it does not work though and the issue is as described above.

Some more context on my setup:

BV5 with DVI input (latest MK with HD-ready)
BC2 connnected to it (as DVD)
MacMini connected via DVI (video) and stereo-in (audio), NOT digital audio
Beo 4
No link room, no speakers, nothing fancy

I don't know how to check whether BV is set to V.OPT2 and also not how to activate or deactivate the DTV tuner. Any advice? Any other ideas?
