Hi All,

I've had the Avant 55 for a couple of weeks now. Love it, thing the picture is brilliant, love the integration with sky etc, all in all very pleased (I had a Loewe Reference before, the Avant is much, much better).

Today however the stand (table top) has started to get noisy, you can hear the motors whirling. Also the speaker now makes a load noise when it drops down or retracts.

Anyone else had similar? I guess its not an easy fix?

Thanks

Paul

Paul, it should be easy in that it's under B&O warranty.  Get straight on to them to come and fix it.  You've invested a lot of money on this set so make your local dealer/seller aware and ask what they are going to do about it.

Dave.

I had the same on mine but it was taken away this friday and I got a new one to replace it. However, it is still in its boxes until I can get a friend to help me assemble it. I hope it is more quiet like my first one was in the beginning.

Please check the aluminium covers are in place properly on the back, if not the speaker catches it when it moves outwards and it makes quite a noise. I have seen and heard this first hand and rectified it by sliding the back cover on properly.

All the best

Don't currently have the covers on, so not that.

I know it will be sorted under warranty, just wondered if it was a common problem.

Cheers

I think I had the exact same thing with my Avant. The sound got more pronounced over time. I believe it might be the grease that sets and makes the motors noisier more than they did in the beginning. Perhaps I'm wrong but what else could it be? It is the same with both the stand (floor stand) and the speakers motors.

It´s not very noisy but it can be heard.
