Beogram 7000 tracking issue

My unit plays well but when the arm reaches the end of the record it seems to track back before lifting the needle. This has caused the demise if cantilever. Is there an adjustment that I can perform before I replace the cartridge?

Is the tonearm apprx. parallel to the sensorarm while playing ?

I can't check now because I need a new cartridge. But in the past it did appear to be parallel.
