How can they destroy a pair of good looking speakers like that http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bang-amp-Olufsen-6716-Speakers-Pair-/171508635887?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
In fairness Soren, they may have found them in their parents loft or garage. Certainly abused but certainly worth a punt at $20. I agree with your sentiment though - how can anyone allow that to happen?
Dave.
Some items like that are things that were damaged in a storm or other natural disaster.
-and then they they just put them with the front down, directly on the tile-floor, to take Pictures of the back...Well - the steel panels are scratched anyway...so who cares...
So sad to see.
I've been to collect so many "mint" items - only to find they were indeed mint, until some total doofus had damaged them 'getting them ready for collection' or 'de-installing' them...
I've had BeoLab 3's on their face on stone floors, BeoCenter 2 head units, again, on stone floors face down - and the BeoVision 7's with BeoLab 7.1/7.2/7.6 having been picked up by the screen on one side and dragged - only to see the screen has of course tilted and the bottom corner of the aluminium surround having buried itself into the top surface of the BeoLab 7....
I could cry sometimes.
Even when I pick up damaged B&O, I still wrap it in duvets and blankets. Why cause even more damage? It's like having a car with a dent in the door - then jumping on the roof and bonnet with ice-skates on because it doesn't matter any more. Well, it does!
