Hi..

Just got hold of a second BL7000 today, not in working condition right now..but it will be..

* Totally dead when off the charger

* In the charger the remote works, but it is in kind of a blinking mode with the red buttons when in std.by, the led's swithes on/off as if the mask is pressed constanty.

* The batteries measures 0v when unsoldered from the remote

* The charger is missing the 220k resistor(it is broken) between pin 2 and 3 on the connector to the BL7000, could this be the cause of the dead battery ? And would adding a new resistor make the battieries able to charge again?

* Missing backlight totally, will try to measure the voltage when i get charged(new) batteries in when charger is working, if this is ok, then replace with new backlight.

*According to the schematic of the charger,the charge voltage should be 6v, but both this broken one and my working one measures 9v ?

* The backup battey is dead, will replace with new one

* The newly acquired is a type 1540 but with a label that says "SW 2.1 RDS", can I switch the PCB board with the one in my working BL7000 and get my mint 1540 upgraded to RDS ? :) Are there differences on the display/button PCB's that might cause issues ?

* 2-way not working, last fix after everything is working again :)

Could someone measure the voltage on their charger to see what the voltage should be ?

And feel free to join in if you have any answers to some of my questions :)

Ok, status is...

* New backup battery

* Fixed 2-Way issue

* Fixed charger resistor

* With new batteries the remote now works like a charm..

* And it is the RDS version :)

Except for the backlight !!

The voltage to the backlight is 0V, no humming from transformer at all..

Any ideas ?

Final update on this complete overhaul of a mis-treated Beolink 7000...

Backlight is now working perfect, just needed a new BC817-25 transistor, and a 10nF capasitor :)

I will NEVER give up ;)

The remote is now working perfectly, the glass unfortunatelly has som dents on the corners, but it is working..
