Hi everyone! Some of you might remember my post a couple of weeks ago where I had shared the pictures of my new B&O products. I had also mentioned at the time that my new Beovision Avant was giving me some problem while starting up.
So, i turn off the TV after watching using the BeoOne remote. When I turn it on again using the BeoOne remote, the green light on the sensor flashes but the screen does not work, neither does the speaker slide down. So my dealer's technician told me that I need to shut off the TV from the mains socket and then restart it. When I do that, it starts functioning fine. Is this the case with anyone else or is it just me?
The dealer's technician has not been able to figure this thing out yet. So i posted this query on the B&O's customer service link. They sent an absolutely useless reply saying that they cannot help me from there and that I should contact their dealer. They did not even tell me if this is normal or not.
So, i asked my dealer. He said that he will get back to me in a few days after reading up on it. Can anyone help me out here. Its really really frustrating spending all this money and then bending every time to use the wall socket to use the TV :(
Thanks in advance.
After all you've been through this must be so disheartening!
This does not sound normal at all. You should not need to effectively re-boot the TV via the mains when you switch it off, it should just go into standby and operate again when you select your source.
I do not have an Avant 55" but wonder if in the settings options menu there maybe a setting that can be changed in relation to standby or switching off?
B&O have to leave it to their local rep to try to sort it out - they installed and set it up. Without them being able to look at it from Struer, until they have a diagnosis from the dealer, if it is a previously unknown problem, they can't say what the problem may be. I hope it's just a set-up issue for your sake.
Good luck.
Dave.
I replied to this several hours ago but it's yet another answer I've posted that's vanished into the internet 'ether'!.
After all you've been through this just should not happen. Life's not being very fair to you at the moment with B&O.
You should not need to unplug it and restart it every time you want to switch it on. Presumably and probably fortunately, you haven't enabled the PIN code or that would have to be entered each time you switch it on!
I don't know if you have the user manual for this TV as the dealer doesn't seem to have performed that admirably, if not, it is here on the B&O website:

If you do have it, just ignore it.
Have you checked the standby options in the menu (page 48)? This seems unlikely to be the culprit but you could try changing a setting and see if it changes anything. You may just have a software glitch.
As your dealer/tech is on hand, he has to be the first port of call and B&O in Struer won't be able to do much until the problem is diagnosed, especially if this is a new problem not seen before.
What else do you have connected to the TV? i.e. how do you receive your TV broadcasts?
Now the other post is there after 3 hours!
