I am interested in hearing about the new BeoPlay V1 from people that has it at home or have been able to review it. Have not found any reviews on the internet yet but I guess someone must have bought it already?
Some nice unpacking pictures and pictures of details and menues would be interesting and nice to see!
I first liked the white model most but I am leaning more against the black one now. A few "real life" pictures would help me and probably many others to decide .
Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2, BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century, BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i, BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40, BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)

My local dealer mention yesterday that they'd only sold a couple of V1s so far - both in black (charcoal grey!).
I agree it would be good to see a decent review.
For pictures though, there are some half-reasonable ones here: http://www.t3.com/reviews/b-and-o-beoplay-v1-review#pictures
Thanks for the link and info regarding your retailers sales so far.
I have seen the pictures already :) but I think B&O should let users pick which stand they want with the TV. So unnecessary to include the tilted stand if it is not being used and according to my retailer the price is the same for all stands. This one would be more universal to include - if any. Having to pay 1500 SEK extra for another stand seems a bit disappointing to me. One thing I am thinking about is if the included tilted stand is possible to mount upside down. If so, one could mount it to a wall for a bedroom for example.
Was about to ask STB brackets if they could make a wall-fixture for it so it could hang on the wall nicely :D
really? thats not what my retailer says, they say the floor-stand is included in the price and all other stands are 1500 sek here in sweden.
I have one V1 32 in my livingroom next to my BV10, it looks really small :)
My picked it up at my dealer yesterday since my BV10 is broken, so I can have something to look at. I am missing a little coupling to the antenna. That will come today, then I will start it up. :)

Ah, how fun :). Did you borrow it or buy it?
I hope you can get it running soon. Where in Sweden do you live?
Hi Rikard,
This is off-topic, but may I ask what's broken in your BV10? As a fellow BV10 owner, I am curious -- in part because I've been reading of various issues with newer B&O kit, especially B&O TVs that have not lived up to the expectation of longetivity (given their price and what can be expected at such a price).
KMA
B&O product history since 1991: Ridiculously long to list in a signature.
I had some problems with clouding and problems with my sound module, when the panels were changed I got two bad panels (?) The screen gets all black after about an hour. We get a new tv with extended warranty, hince they are convinced that the product has so good quality, we try again and if the new tv has problems we return it and get another tv. Me and my wife really like the tv, it has good picture and ok sound, and the ML cnnections to the BC2 makes the system neat and tidy with good sound! :)
My dealer told med that they dont have that much problems with the BV10. So I hope it works out now :)
I live in Stockholm. I have borrowed the tv until my new BV 10-46 comes.
I got the tv home, plugged it in. It started and I had to go through the menus of language and so on - extremely easy no need for a manual. I got questions about what speakers I have connected to the tv.
Then I connected the digitalbox to one hdmi contacts - the tv automatically asked what I wanted to do. Look at source or tell what it shall be for.
It fells extremely easy to use this tv.
The picture is in my opinio very good. And the sound from the built in speaker surprised me! It is good!
So to conclude - a good tv with what I can see good value for money. If it had ML I could have it athome, but we need ML so this will not work for our livingroom, but as a second tv in our home it would work out perfectly.
Next to our BV 10-46 it looks pretty small.. :)

Thanks for your reply!
I'm keeping my thumbs up for everything working out :)
My BV10 was exchanged 3 times until I got a unit that had no problems (no clouding). I'm however hesitant in keeping the TV beyond the 2-year-warranty I got (or is it 3 years by default on B&O TVs; this seems to vary a bit from market to market and between dealers).
Rikard,
WOW Both look so nice DAMN, and I thought the V1 32 looked pretty large. Next to the BV10, IMO the V1 certainly looks like a proper B&O in terms of design. Very very nice!!!!!!

Thanks for the picture! Ah, if you had lived in Skåne I had rushed over to try it out, almost at least :P.
I want it for my bedroom but cant decide on the color. Will probably go for the white model, the black one doesnt really look "black" in reality, or does your? Maybe my retailer got a strange demo unit.
It really looks small compared to the BV10-46. Would be even more interesting to see the TV on ;).
How do you feel the sound is compared to the BV10?
I have two old Avants that without much problems play very good and is useable as a stereo also, I realise the V1 can't produce as much sound but is it good enough for music?
The BC2 looks good on that box but why not mount it directly on the wall? I think that would give a much "cleaner" look.
The color is charcole black - really dark grey, I think it looks good - not like every other tv..
The sound is pretty good, I have not tried it out too much. Compare the sound of the BV 10 and the V1, I´d say the sound is good! As with all tvs you can add extra speakers :)
The V1 does not have ML so you cant link your radio/cd to it.
I take pics with my phone, they will not make a good impression, go to your dealer an try it out - I think you will like it. The picture is pretty damn good..
We just moved in to this house, we have lived here for 3 weeks, I have not found the time to mount anything yet.. My BL3:s is still in the box as are all the cables.. :) In time it will be fitted on the wall. I dont think I will make the same installation as I did in our apartment - yet. Since we dont want to put new wallpaper up - yet :)
And guys, regarding sound quality of the new V1, do not forget the smaller 32" does not have the 4" woofer like his bigger brother. So the 40" model should sound even much better.
LOEWE bild 5.55 OLED + AppleTV; BS4; BL9; BL8000 MKII all black

The strange thing about this is that the specs is the same on the 32" and 40" on the BeoPlay website. I think they might have rushed the specifications because a lot is strange there.. But I want confirmation first :)

Ah, well, congratulations to your new house then! And interesting to hear your thoughts about the TV. I have listened to both the 32/40" at my local retailer but I didn't find the sound very pleasing then. Perhaps because of the position and that we didn't really try it out more than listen to some music at low volumes with the door open.
Im sure it sounds great in a real room with less ambient noise and all that.
I also think it is a pity the V1 dont have ML but I am thinking about connecting it to a beolink passive that has both powerlink and masterlink. That way I can connect it to my BS9000 in another room and the V1 via Powerlink. All connected to a pair of discrete BOSE-speakers that I can hide fairly easy in my bedroom.
Not the best solution but the simplest I have come up with so far. But I will probably not proceed with that idea anyways. Or perhaps just for fun :P
Thanks :)
As for the BV10-46, I really like this piece of art. The picture is really good, I was at my sister today and watched their tv, both me and my wife looked at it and said - there is a really big difference in the picture quality.. As for the sound in the BV10, I don´t think that it is that good, we always use 3 or 5 speakers.. Interesting to if your idea of the beolink will work :)
We watched a movie yesterday, the sound is ok - it is a small tv. Most users probably use it in a smaller room, our livingroom is 55 sqare meters, it needs more speakers so I dont think this is a fair test for this tv.. :)

Have a look at the line "cabinet volume"

V1-32 : 2x32W <--> 2x0.15l
V1-40 : 2x32W <--> 2x0.15l + 1x1.7l
How is the subwoofer powered in the 40" ?
Thanks hfat but it doesnt say anything about amplifier for the subwoofer, it also says 85-20,000 hz on both models. I think they should change it to the right specs at least :)

The sound was ok and the picture was small but .. good? :D
That concludes it well. If I had it in a smaller room I think the experience would be better..
Even my BL3s sound abit thin in the house compared to our old apartment..
Only spotted the launch of this more reasonably priced unit a week ago and have been looking for a 5.1 solution for a couple of years, so will be watching this thread with interest.
For reference, I've owned B&O since 1971, retired to Virginia three years ago and am not very technical (understatement ). Right now I'm viewing a quite decent but not exceptional 42" panel with an HMDI connection to a Comcast HD box. I'm using the analog sound feed to a BM 7000 which also runs a CD 7000 and 4004 turntable. Via Powerlink it feeds a BL 11 which also runs two BL 3's on floor stands. In the rear are two M70's powered by an ML/MCL converter. This weird combo produces really outstanding audio in "Stereo 4".
Tried the AV 7000 solution which worked but gave poor audio compared to the PL outputs from the BM 7000. I also don't have an active center channel speaker and my Comcast box also only outputs 5.1 digitally. Grrr...
Called one of my dealers this week to ask whether I could run my sound through this TV via the analog input. He has 20+ years of B&O experience but said that he'd only had preliminary training on the V1 and only hooked up to two 6000's. As for using the analog input for just audio, he was doubtful because he thought that the V1 might look for a video signal before looking for audio.
He then called Chicago I presume and called me back to say that there was a way to feed my audio through the V1 with the use of a couple of adapters. I didn't understand what he was saying and he didn't want to go into more detail this week, saying that he'd have one in the store in 7 - 10 days which he could play with to verify what he was told. I realize that the V1 has no ML and frankly don't care since I prefer using my MCP 6500 to run phono, CD and FM anyway vs my Beo4. One thing I could NOT tolerate would be any degradation of audio which I experienced with the AV 7000.
Having the V1 run as center channel could be a huge benefit to me for sure as most voices these days come through that channel and my hearing isn't what it was. Just running stereo for movies right now, sometimes voices are muddy although other movie audio in stereo is dandy.
The V1 would be a major investment for me in this economy, so that screen had better be impressive. I'd also be downgrading from a 42" to a 40" at a viewing distance which could easily handle a 46" except that in this space 46" would begin to dominate my living room.
The table stand must also work on a 39" wide HDTV component stand and that could be tricky as the V1 unit alone is 37.5"
While I'm aware that there is a learning curve with the operation of a cable box with a Beo4, I remain to be convinced that access to all my "on demand" functions can be seamless and convenient. Currently it's a breeze with the cable box remote. The DC dealer says "no issue" and his store is on Cox Cable. He also stated that one of his clients had no problem with Fios in DC with the exception of one on demand function which required the Fios remote. The Norfolk dealer has Comcast, so I might have to drive all the way down there too. I'm 90 miles and 120 miles away from these places as I'm west of Richmond.
Never said I was easy! And this whole concept could just be a pipe dream. At least the V1 has Wifi and my son is using Netflix a lot lately...
Hello Rikard
Could you perhaps tell me if there is an adapter for the mini AV jack for analog sources bundled with the TV?
I only got the tv unboxed, so I dont know what connectors it is delivered with.
