I love pictures, so I would not cheat you guys from a few images of my "Create One Perfect BL 7000 from 2 BL7000's" Project :)

What I had was

Number one : Fairly good condition, mint glass plate, mirror-plate very bad, no RDS, back cover scratched, weak back-light, missing 2-way, dead backup battery.

Number two : 2-Way missing, dead backup battery, dead back-light, glass bad, mirror-plate good, back-cover very good, RDS

* Fixed 2-way in both

* New backup battery in both

* New back-light in both

* Changed a transistor and capacitor in number two, to get back-light working

So what I then had was 2 working BL7000's

Then it was just a matter of disassemble both to atoms, and use all good parts for one, and bad parts for the second..

Here are a few pictures of a BL7000 completely disassembled, and then rebuild :) Everything was washed and cleaned, and re-lubricated..

The last picture shows the transistor and capacitor that was changed

So all in all, I am very happy with my project, I now have a very nice condition BL7000 with RDS, and a not so nice version that can be used daily :)

Thanks!

That is one totally insane product. Nobody would build such a thing these days and expect it to be economically viable. I love mine Smile

Hi

Mine Bl7000 has a mint glass to. Is it easy to replace?

And how do I get it off?

It has loosened in the top half, but still attached very well on the lower half.
