Beoremote One "engraving"

Saw an "engraved" BeoRemote One today. However, it is not engraved with a laser. It actually looks more like white/grey paint.

Probably not a bad idea. Looks good but laser etching would have been cooler. Perhaps the paint can be removed if the remote will change owner?

How can you tell that it is not laser-engraved?

From what I saw a couple of months ago in Struer, it is made in the same way as the other 'engravings', using the same gear.

If that should have been changed now, it wiill have happened recently.

It surely feels engraved!

The one I touched did not feel engraved. It felt like it had paint on the aluminum. It was higher than the surface. Had it been engraved then the letters would be sunken in the aluminum.

maybe the one you saw was 'painted'?

I guess everyone can do that, if he wants to.

If you order them engraved, I am quite sure, that the are 'lasered'.

The one I saw was painted I think. And I can't imagine they would do them in two different ways but who knows. At least this one looked and felt like it was painted.

I still haven't received my "engraved" one yet even tough I ordered the avant on its launch day. So I can't compare. I just wanted to show since this is the only one I've seen yet.
