If you also have a MLGW you can select Spotify playlists that you have stored on the BS5, but you will have to remember where they are stored. So very limited support even with a MLGW.

If you want to control spotify with your ipad, etc., why don't you incorporate a PlayMaker with your BS5?

Then you could sit on your couch ( i seem to be saying i do a lot of that lol), and stream your playlist to your speakers connected to the BS5.

Or a Sonos player, but that is not controlling the BS5 Smile

Do you live in an urban area with interference? what router do you use?

i switched my playmaker from wireless to wired and it started working like a charme but would prefer wireless whcih diesnt work to well based on network traffic and old 2.4ghz frequency usage by the apple provided chipset.

Not trying to sidesteer the thread but many here seem to struggle with the Pm

Maybe essence is better option then PM since that can stream playlists directly without holding your ios hostage. You just need the ios device to start it

I live in an Urban area.  When i check my wireless networks there are 6 around me.  I have cable internet and my wireless NAT is delivered by the latest Time Capsule fed from a Motorola cable modem via Power Over Ethernet.

When i had my BS5 Encore, I had it via Power Over Ethernet but then added the PM to allow for on the fly stuff.

I only have the PM now and it's been good for me.

MM, I am glad you and others the PM, in my experience as a standalone unit when connected to a pair of wonderful B&O active speakers it works OK.

For me I hate the looks and build and as far as controlling a spotify stream 'into a masterlink system' there are far better solutions out there. Just because the PM is made by B&O it doesnt mean it is the best solution for this particular scenario.

Airplaying a spotify music stream to a device which then sends the music to a B&O master....

No Thanks.

I sure accept, that you don't agree with me.

'Hating' the looks has nothing to do with liking or not liking the functionality of a device.

By the way mine is rather hidden - you would hardly notice that it is there.

It does what it is told and autoswitches the inputs if needed, and 'my way' I can use it in all (link) rooms.

That is 'magic' to me - I  could not ask for more!

I did certainly not buy it, because it is B&O-made, but because I need this kind of device in my setup.

Please do name some of the 'far better solutions'.

P.S. 'hate' is a strong word - we are talking electronic devices Unsure

But more importantly, what will the OP do now that Taylor Swift is no longer on Spotify?

There is a Spotify playlist that is the tunes to listen to when Taylor is away lol

Too funny.
