Anyone in the US bought one? What's the verdict?

I'd like to know as well.

Despite all of my excitement last year, I still haven't pulled the trigger (too many reasons to list) -- sort of glad I didn't based on the initial imperfections with the roll out.

On another note, the Beosound Moment is making a splash in the General Forum, it would be interesting to see how it plays in the US. I'd say an even more difficult market to crack for a company with extremely niche products.

It seems it's a hit in Europe, but the US forum is not real active. I have been pretty hot on a new Beovision - first it was the Beovision 10, then 11, then Avant, but I too have tempered my enthusiasm some. It would just be nice to hear someone with experience on this side of the pond before making the decision.

The new Moment seems interesting, but I still haven't really figured out what it does (or the Beosound 5, or Encore, Essence, etc).

G'day.

I'm not in America, but Australia.

I have purchased an Avant and i couldn't be happier to be honest.

I always sung the praises of my Sony Bravia prior to this but the picture quality, sound quality are excellent.  However, its the functionality that is what I have really become used to and pleased with.

Quite simply, it just works.

It's so lovely to have no AV receiver and the ability on the remote to go > speakers > movie to enable 5.1 sound if i want.

I've used all in one remotes before such as the Logitech Harmony One but always found that i still had to reach for other remotes.  I haven't had to do that yet.  The my buttons are awesome.  I just press button one in the morning, it turns on, goes to the correct spot for me in the kitchen as i'm making breakfast and puts on the morning show.

I haven't used spotify nor deeper, but I listen to Abalone radio on Netradio function and i couldn't be more pleased.

I had an encore before and no longer have this.  I have a speaker group for my rear speakers which are 2 BL3s via the wireless receiver.  These haven't skipped a beat and they actually sound better than when they were connected with a PlayMaker and also with the encore.

All in all, i'm happy.

Normal TV looks good and I watch most of my TV via a "cable" box and I have an Apple TV.

3 peripherals are installed by a STB Bracket which is what sold me on the solution.

You don't know how much you love the functionality of a BeoVision till you actually have one.

A guy said Michael you will love a BeoVision and i was like "sure sure, blah blah" but he was right and i was wrong.

In Denmark the Avant is selling extremely well, my dealer told me.

Lots of cheap second hand BV7's here - when people trade them in Whistle

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV

That should have been me and believe me again, it's just the beginning of a long love story.

It's incredible that after twenty years of Beovisions (or Beosounds) it's still magic when I press the remote and the tv turns toward me silently with the curtains opening on a great rich picture and a great warm sound.

Thanks for the replies, and it's good to hear success stories from elsewhere, but I think one of my main concerns is the lack of dealers and support (at least in my area). Dealers struggle here, there are none within a few hundred miles, and the nearest one seems to change hands every couple of years.

I have an old Avant and a Beosystem 1 connected to a plasma which I still use, but they're both 10 years old and losing their charm. The newest STBs aren't supported, semi-HD picture, and lack of HMDI connections, etc are the main drivers to change, but I'm still hesitant to splurge on the new Avant.

On an unrelated note, I still love and use my Play A8 daily. Best B&O purchase I've ever made.

I completely sympathize. Although I live near Los Angeles (2-3 dealers and a service center less than 50 miles away), dealer service is still hit or miss. Just check out the reviews. There were more dealers a short while ago, but as has happened in other places, dealers are shuttering their doors.

Enjoy your Gen 1 Avant, I had one and it was awesome :-)

Just a quick update. I am still waffling on the main room TV, so I picked up a used BV7-40 for the bedroom. It is beautiful, and the sound from the beolab 7-2 speaker is incredible. Very happy with it so far.

Now, do I continue pining over the Avant / BV11, or do I look for a 7-55, or do I pony up a bit more $$ for the 12-65 a dealer is tempting me with...

Go with the Avant, you won't be disappointed!

I've seen and played with all the newer B&O TV's, all fantastic, but after 2 years of indecision, the Avant just blew me away.

Coming from a top end 65" 4k Samsung to the Avant are simply worlds apart.  I thought the Samsung was amazing but this is very very special and worth every penny.

I love the BV 11 also, but at 55" the speaker looks too big and with it being wider, it looses its picture frame charm.  I wouldn't consider the 12, it's way overpriced in my opinion and I've never been a fan of plasma, looks very nice though!

Moxxey just picked up a 12-65, maybe he'll say something to sway you. I did notice a lot of US dealers selling demo / floor sample BV12-65 + motorized stand + Beosystem 4 for a reasonable price. If you have the space for it, I've heard it's a great television (but may be lacking in the sound department, hence the need for external speakers).

Keep us posted.

I'm looking to sell a 7-55.

For a very reasonable sum.

Where are you located?

In case anyone was following this, while considering options I picked up a beosystem 3 to tide me over for now to replace the beosystem 1.

I really like the Avant but I want something bigger than 55". The 75" is too much. The bv12 once you add everything up was almost as much as the Avant 75. This way I don't have to deal with a NL/ML converter etc and I will get a larger screen separately.

I'm hoping we see something later this year that can fill the 55-75" gap and then I'd be happy to pull the trigger. But this will work for now.

Now I just need to find a cable cover for the BS3, and another Beolab 7-2. Loving that speaker on the BV7!

I love the Avant TV, would love the 75" direct backlit led myself. I going to sell my BV11-55 and hopefully upgrade soon.

Anyone looking for a mint BV11-55? ;)

The BS Moment has not launched in the US yet so not much to comment on in regards to performance. I have played with it a bit and it works fine using a european Deezer account. Hope Deezer launches in the US soon so we can get some Moments.
