Hi everyone,
I am still considering buy an Avant 55 but I would like to know if the TV is capable of playing big MKV files (about 10 GB) stored on a NAS on your home network ?
I saw on the specifications that the ethernet card is 10/100 Mb and I am wondering if this is enough to play big MKV files (I don't want to copy them on an USB external HDD).
Thanks
Fred

The Avant cant decode big MKV files quickly enough and starts to drop frames when there is too many details in the picture. This can for example be seen on HBO intro videos in full HD (the "ant wars") or other high resolution videos. It usually works well but starts to drop frames on parts with especially many details. Unfortunately. This is not a limitation of the network - its a limitation of the processing power in the TV. And by the way, CAT 7 is totally unnecessary for BeoVisions since they only do 100Mbit...
