Hi Beoworlders

Looks like my television doesn't want to play any more Sad

When it used to start up you used to hear a couple of clicks and a buzz as it wound up, now when I turn it on it doesn't make any such noise and only the sound comes through the speakers.

So do I bin it or do I replace a board that makes that buzzy noise?

If it is going to that beovision grave yard I'd like to examine the possibility of replacing  the screen with a Panasonic one (the same as the one B&O used in the original BV4) as I suspect this will be the most cost effective solution.

I welcome advice from my cleverer Beoworld buddies out there.

Help!

Gary

Perhaps I need to rephrase my question...

Which model number Panasonic monitor is behind the Beovision 4 Aluminium bezel?

Hi Gary,

There are actually a couple of BV4 "panel-only" auctions on eBay from another 'reseller' (I hate that word for some reason..) who is a reputable chap.

Here's one.. a 50"

and here's a 42"

Thanks for your help, Lee.

I might end up going down this route, I have to confess I had seen these but recall something on beoworld where the Panasonic panel was replaced in the BV4.  I have also managed to locate this article in the Archive bit.

It appears with some jiggery pokery in the panasonic  menu using the connectors I already have to my BS2 I can use a Panasonic 42 TH-42PWD7 which seem to start at £30 rather than £300 on eBay.

Research tells me moving the B&O bezel onto the 'new' monitor is a swine on account of the number of screws, but if I can get the tele up and running for Christmas I expect less grief from the one that must be obeyed.
