Hi there

I purchased a used beovision 7-32 mark 3.

All great apart from the glass. Couple of areas have been over enthusiastically cleaned to the point of the contrast coating being removed.

I acquired a replacement screen off a 7-32 model 9314.

question was, can this be swapped over? Is it an engineer job and where do you find an engineer in the Midlands?

Alternatively, is this a DIY job? I think not!!??

many thanks for any useful advise.

regards

Richard

Richard,

the service manual makes it look easy - but I bet it isn't!  Section 5.12 on replacing the LCD screen, the first step is to remove the contrast screen.

From the back of the TV with the rear panels removed, there are 4x TX20 screws holding the contrast screen in place.  Remove those and the screen should lift and then be pulled forward.  replacement being the opposite.

However, you would need to ensure the contrast screen is spotlessly clean on the inside and the seals are good.  Also, working on any TV with the back removed is a very dangerous thing to do for anyone not knowing what they are doing.  I've installed modules in some BV6's in the past quite safely and this may in fact be a really easy thing to do.

Hopefully someone here can give a definitive answer on the ease of the procedure and compatibility of the 2 contrast screens.

B&O Birmingham closed so I don't know where your nearest dealer is these days.

Alternatively you could contact Lifestyle AV directly as they have incredible product knowledge and may be able to offer some advice.  It's only a phonecall or email.

Dave.
