This summer I am going to be re-decorating the whole house, and installing S/FTP ethernet cabling to every room so that all my B&O gear can simply plug into RJ45 wall sockets like this
The middle face plate will have three RJ45 connections, the middle one for the Masterlink, and left and right for powerlink Beolab speakers.
I am going to cut the Masterlink cable from the Ouverture and terminate an RJ45 shell on the other end
the pin outs on the ML connector are shown like this
The documentation I have says that only six pins are used:
Pin 1 Data- 0.4v
Pin 2 Data+ 0.4v
Pin 3 ML Sense
Pin 9 ATI Transmit
Pin 10 ATI Receive
Pin 12 Suppy Voltage 7v to 15v
But what would be the correct B&O wiring to the RJ45 shell ( I am using T568A standard)
ouverture:The documentation I have says that only six pins are used:
You'll need more than that. For example, audio is completely missing from the pins you listed!
Also, the "ATI" pins (I dunno what they are) seemingly aren't used for current ML products. Rather use the documentation at http://www.beoworld.org/beotech/wiring4.htm.
According to that, a complete ML connection won't fit into 8 pins. But I believe it can still be done by "faking" some of the signals locally instead of wiring them - somebody else will have to fill in the details.

thanks Mika, very useful, so 9 pins are used, but hopefully as you say one (or more) of them can be faked on the Ouverture and other Beosounds I have at home, I wonder which of those 9 might be able to be faked ?
Pin 3 ML Sense ( NOT NEEDED FOR RJ45 CONNECTION )
Pin 11 - supply voltage
Pin 12 + supply voltage
Pin 13 Left -
Pin 14 Left +
Pin 15 Right -
Pin 16 Right +
here maybe some help
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.

thank you - that's great info, now to do a test system at the weekend :-) it seems that Pin 3 on the Masterlink ( ML Sense ) is not required for this to work, easy peasy japaneeze !
RJ45 to Masterlink
Pin 1 to Pin 16 ( Right + speaker )
Pin 2 to Pin 15 ( Right - speaker )
Pin 3 to Pin 12 ( + supply voltage)
Pin 4 to Pin 14 ( Left + Speaker )
Pin 5 to Pin 13 ( Left - Speaker )
Pin 6 to Pin 11 ( - supply voltage )
Pin 7 to Pin 2 ( Data + 0.4v )
Pin 8 to Pin 1 ( Data - 0.4v )
