A warm hello to all of you.

I am looking for a new Beovision TV at the moment. I guess I need some so decide which one.

My dram always was a Beovision 7-40 or 7-55 on motorised floortsand ans if possible a Beolab 10 underneath the display. This week I ran into the new Avant and the Beovision 11.

I do have to admit the 11 does look a bit better than the Avant. But the Beovision 7 is a class of it's own.

Is it reasonnable to go for a Beovision 7? I think second hand BV 7 of the latest serie are at the same price level as a bew Avant!? Is  the Avant much more up to date than the BV 7 or 11?

Hope someone likes to discuss that matter with me.Big Smile

Cheers, Noah

If you are short of space then the 11 and Avant make more sense, although I have a 7-55 in the same room as my 11 used to be and it personal makes little difference.

I personally think the Avant looks like any other black rectangle out there, but better on a table stand where the moving speaker then makes more sense. The 11 looks more like a Beovision to me, but lacks the WISA capability for wireless speakers if that's your preference. The Avant obviously has the UHD capable panel, and the first UHD Blueray player should arrive in 12-15 months.

The 7-55 has a very good Blueray player built in, and is the only one to have local dimming. This makes a big difference and for HD playback in my opinion, has by far the better picture. The 7-6 speaker is the best Beolab I have ever owned and is virtually unflappable. The Avant's speaker might look small in comparison, but is again very capable and is better than the 11.

Just my personal opinion and preference. Even today I would still go for the 7-55. I think UHD material looks amazing, and I'm looking forward to it becoming mainstream whenever that maybe. Which one would you like to walk into a room and see might be crucial who knows, it does make a differenceSmile

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

Hi Noah,

I agree with Chris.  I also have a 7_55 and it is one heck of a TV.  I have the 3D/HD/Blu Ray version on a motorised floor stand.  Picture and sound (I have a BL7.4 centre, BL2 sub and BL8000's as rear and BL3000 flat panels as front soon to be replaced with BL3's) is wonderful.  For CD's too.

If you buy used, look at our title sponsor - they currently have a motorised stand for the BV7_55 for sale at £295 wich is about a £1000 saving on a new stand.

I bought mine from Lifestyle AV and it is incrdeible value - shipped in original box, BEO4 included etc etc. and a huge saving.

I was a huge fan of the new Avant but reading some of the experiences of new owners, it made me think twice and so I bought the 7_55.  Very glad I did.

Be aware though, it weighs a ton and getting it onto the floor stand is not for the faint hearted!

Dave.

Certainly from at least 2013 they are WISA compatible.  Lifestyle AV just sold one that's WISA enabled:

Haven't a clue.  But as most things seem to be modular based these days, it's probably worth contacting your B&O dealer directly and asking them.

Alternatively, e-mail B&O customer services from their home page.  I have done several times and they are really quite helpful and fast with a reply.

Agreed. I love mine, but it took two men to lift the panel up and a third to guide onto the floor stand contact point. Luckily I had some spare construction workers on the property when I asked for some help.

BeoLab 5, BeoVision 7-55 MK2, BeoSound 5 Encore, BeoSound 9000, BeoLab Penta III, BeoLab 8000, BeoLab 6000, BeoLab 2, BeoLab 7-6, BeoSound 8, BeoTime (analog clock), Beo 4 remote.

That was fortunate.  It was just me and my wife!  Good job she's a strong girl.  We had to lift it on the original packing box styrofoam - as in fact you're supposed to do but we needed a few wooden wedges to lift it enough to get on the stand hanger.

Okay - now this thread is turning into a "strong girl"-thread....:)

But to answer the op question:

If you dreamt of a BV-40/55 get one now. They were never cheaper.

And my BV7-40 with BL10 (and BL5) is still an amazing setup connected to a BS5, a cinema setup and a seven room linksystem.
