Hello Peter and Svend fans,
I saw my brother in law yesterday in Cannes in is new flat with is new 55" Philips Tv.
The smart Tv fonction looked the same than my BV11 one, but it had a Netflix app I (we) don't have.
Since september 2014 Netflix is available in France, why oh why we don't have it on our B & O SmartTv's ???
If Netflix wants new clients they should give free access to their app right now.
Maybe in the new update ?

I think B&O smart TV is based on Philips platform. That is a quite small platform and I think that Netflix think its not worth while to launch an app there.
Recommend to buy an Apple TV. There you get the Netfix app.

BeoNut since '75
Not only in France!
I don't want it just as an app - I want direct access to it (make it a source) just like with Spotify...
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
That's a good idea, we should contact B & O to get a source on our remotes and tv's !

olvisab:When you see the really bad results of netflix in France and in some new other countries, b&o shouldn't take this issue too seriously.
What do you mean by that? We use Netflix every day (I registered within the first few minutes of the release in France) and the whole family find it really good - no dropouts etc. Or do you just mean the content selection?
Dave.

I don't know if (or how) the 'catalogue' in France is different from the catalogue in other contries.
In Denmark video streaming services have gotten very popular.
Not only with younger people - almost everybody knows the name Netflix. It has become a 'normal way' to watch video content in a very short time.

Possibly the fact that a lot of the content is in English - perfect for me as I am English. The French language content isn't massive but it's only just started 2 months ago! Streaming is popular in France, nobody seems to buy DVD's as far as we can see from our French friends.
@Dave
It is just a matter of time - I am sure!

I agree though some people expect everything immediately. The younger generation are particularly guilty of this and don't have the patience to wait. It's symptomatic of this age of technology whereby users expect everything to work straight out of the box and do everything they want - immediately.
Netflix is expanding globally and cannot do it all at once. If they delayed operating in some countries because they thought some content was lacking - you can imagine the negativity from users who would feel deprived by not having it. They can't win.
Is another company doing video streaming better (better than Netflix) in France?

BeoGreg:Right now for me "old" movies and series will be find for 10 € a month. Does a three years old good movie loose is quality over time ? For six months movies I pay 5 € per VOD once in a while. It's rather expensive. If like me you don't download illegaly there are no alternatives than a 5 € movie or 10 € Netflix.
