My a3 dock (2- 3 years old) has just stopped working.....it charges the iPad and the volume control on the A3 will move the iPads sound control up and down, but there is no sound coming out. I thought it might be a dodgy contact, but then it charges so that suggests the contact is good.....anyone else got an idea on how to fix it, of can someone tell me how the take it all apart and fix it?
Did you update your iPad recently - maybe that could be a reason?
You never (really) know if/when Apple removes functions!

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Welcome to Beoworld. I don't think the A3 can be dismantled, but you can still get a replacement online or at the B&O outlet store for £125.
The 30 point connector sometimes does not make full contact even though the A3 may be charging, so slide it in and out very firmly. Also check the button on the side just above the power chord point. Check that everything is charging, and leave the power chord connected. Also, after the green charging symbol comes on, in my experience the sound controls do not operate for another 30 seconds.
And don't rule out the possibility of an iPad glitch: my iPad has been very slow since the latest OS software update.

Guys hopefully it'll have the 3 year warranty! Send it back quick!!!
I still use the 30 pin iPhone 4S and no updates in terms of 'things being switched off' just as perfect as the day I got it :) I use the 30pin out for AV use to a TV for music & video.
We have had one or two reported faults on the A3 similar to what you are reporting. They turned out to be the dock socket within the iPad itself.
Is it possible for you try another dock? Maybe take your iPad into a store and test on one of their docks or if possible another A3.
As has been pointed out, you will have a three year warranty from new which is in the form of an exchange as no repairs are offered on the A3.
