at present I have a Beosound Overture as the hub of my masterlink system.   I have at present 5 zones. I would like to upgrade to a newer hub other then the overture in the system.    I see the Beosound 4 is available as well as the Beocenter.    Do I have other options that I could use a source for my master link system?   Could I use an Essence or a Beosound 5?  Maybe add a Playmaker??? I am looking to get music from my computer which would be nice.   But not 100% necessary.   What are my options with a masterlink system.    Can I still add a new master Hub?   Does it have to be B&O??  Thanks!!

`Congratulations on a great setup.

A Beosound 4 would easily slip into place.

It would give you a CD, FM radio, DAB or DAB+ (if it ha been chipped), SD card (this is really great for recordings from radio and/or a special collection of MP3 playlists). or AUX in from either a beogriam, beocord, PlayMaker. Gammon (see Mille's latest post), or Airport Express, or even a non-B&O TV's headphone output.

I presume (no time to check, sorry) the Overture has an AUX in.  In which case the AUX in options already exist for you !

To get music from your computer either use the AUX in approach from its headphone output ... or get a BeoPort to connect to the master link.

I guess you mean unannounced B&O !

So at this stage "no" just rumours. We are all hoping the next CES (Las Vegas ? January 2015 ?) will be the moment they reveal all ....

Whatever is coming, it will not have an ML interface, and so you will need the newish (2013?2014?) NL/ML Converter. There is a detailed thread on it but I can't search on the train for you as the next stop is mine !!!

You could add the NL/ml converter and use it as your master. It can operate as audio or video master and has an a.aux feed so you could add the essence and have the essence distributed throughout the 5 zones.

And.. With the converter you can send everything out over master link and have the expandability to grow in to a networklink set up in the future.

I was looking for some Non B&O options that may be available but the NL/ML convertor does seem like a possibility. What model number is it?  Is it still available?  I do not see it on the B&O web site.

Thanks

Lots of good ideas here!!!

Heres alink to the user guide which is a great place to start.

The converter is very customizable too so different commands can retrieve different sources.

You're not limited to the typical audio and video marriages that you're used to with an Ml system.
