Hi All
This is a kind of strange..
After I have upgraded my Beomaster 3500 with 2-way software, an electronic "noise" is heard in the speakers(quite loud) whenever the Beomaster is sending IR codes to BL5000/7000... The noise sounds totally like if I was watching the IR transmission through a scope :)
Has anyone else this problem on their system, I would especially like to hear from BM4500 owners with 2-way software. I am wondering if there are differences between BM3500/4500 somewhere. When looking at the prints, the circuit boards look completely the same, but there might be some noise suppression somewhere I have missed..
Any ideas or other input ?

lawrencejmcook:Hi Weebyx, I used to hear that sound with my Beomaster 4500 AND my Beocenter 9500, whether I was using IR or touch controls. For example, with CD stopped, I would turn the volume up to max, and as the level increased I would hear little electronic sounds coming from my speakers - BeoLab 5000s. One sound for each level increment. I never had that issue with my BV5 or BV9. Lawrence

Yes, the volume sound is quite "normal" to hear, I also have that on my BM7000, but I have never heard the "IR Transmit" sounds on my BM7000.. Maybe it is because I have a Beolab 7.1 Connected via PowerLink to the BM7000, and I have passive CX-100's to the BM3500.. Maybe it is the amplifier circuit that is not shielded enough at some point ? I will try to connect the CX-100 to the BM7000 later today, to see if that makes a difference.
The "IR Transmit" sound is much higher and more hearable than the "volume up/down" sound..
I have had the same problem 20 years ago with a beocenter 9500 and two beovisions.
One of the connection cables was not isolated good enough. I exchanged with an original, better shielded one from b+o.

Which connection cable ?
Even if I disconnect everything from the BM3500, the sound is still there when listening to radio. Tonight I have tried to isolate th problem by dissasembeling the unit so that all the different boards are as long away from each other as possible..
Still no luck, the sound is still there..
Hmmm, the sound is also there when using powerlink speakers ?
i'am not absolutely shure, but i think it was one of the powerlink cables.
i have had/have beolab 5000's too.

Ok, the issue here is in the internals of the Beomaster, not the connected speakers..
I tried all 3 BM's I have, and all had the noise, but one was much lower than the other 2, so have just exchanged all internals from the "ugly but less noisy", to the "White but noisy cabinet".. So I can now live with the noise :)
