Beovox 5000 flat panel wall speakers.
I have had these little babies over a year now and to honest I love them, so much quality sound for no money really. I run them through a MCL amp(small black hang on the wall job) but I was thinking of sending a little more power their way. Possible amp upgrade advise welcomed.
At the moment I'm thinking of a Quad 405, I know its not for the purists but would it be a good addition. Or should I hold out for a Beomaster 6000 or 8000(if they ever come up for sale). Is it worth the money to fix a 6000 or would the Quad be better anyway.
Oh, they run from a Beosound 3000.
The 5000's are great looking speakers and timeless .
I have no experience of Quad or 8000. The 6000 quad would look great with the 5000.s if you have the space. I have one Dillen restored for me and I used it a lot in my last house. Get one if you can.
Best way to upgrade your Beovox to Beolab.
Brengen & Ophalen
How about a Icepower 125asx2?
"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"

Where to get???

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Either do as Leslie suggests - mine works well.
Or add a subwoofer to your setup.
The MCL-P amp will do the job, if you add the power of a sub.
Have those labs 5000 both as loose part for sale if you're interested. The labs was one of my "restoration projects". I've placed a thread of that project on BW long time ago.

Turns out she who must be obeyed is not so keen on the Quad 405 so thats out the window. She does however like the Beomaster 6000, me too, nowjust need to find one for sale.
the bass in the speakers sounds plenty anyway, not really sure they need more, was just after a little quality sound improvement

one you use...or one to sell???
For sale. PM me...
To avoid any misunderstanding, do we talk about the stereo or the quad 6000?
Oops, the quad reading your whole thread now.
I do have the quad but not sure if that's the one I want to sell. Have the quad system complete with the Cord, turntable and 4 P50's in white. The quad 6000 has been fully restored by my friend Step1 (Olly).

Its the nice sleek aluminium and rosewood Beomaster 6000 I am after, the little brother of the Beomaster 8000, any reference to Quad is the do with Quad 405, built by Quad UK.
cheers

Just brought one!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats, what about the condition and does it work. These are horrible machines to repair.
Condition good, usual display faults. fm issues and I guess it will need a damn good service.
I'm thinking of it as an investment, spend some £££ on it now and then when I have any extra cash, hand it down to my little boy when he is old enough to appreciate it. Not till I had a couple of decades of enjoyment out of it though.
