Hello, I have a little problem with my Master Link wiring. I wanted to combine a Beosound 3000 in the living room with a BeoLab 3500 in the kitchen and therefore installed a flush mounted cable. The cable I bought is a MCL cable. At the time I did not realize that MCL is not Master Link. In addition I have bought two Junction Boxes, with which I wanted to connect a Master Link plug to the (MCL) cable. Now I have found out that the cable has only 7 pins, but the junction boxes need more.
My question:
Can I still connect the speakers with the Beosound with only 7 pins with the help of the Junction Boxes by leaving out some pins for something like video channels (which I do not need)?
Or do I have no choice but to either leaver up the walls again and lay a new Masterlink cable or otherwise buy a wireless solution? What wireless solutions are there and do they have issues?
I hope someone can help me.
Hi
Master Link (ML) and Master Control Link (MCL) is not the same. Further the cables are not the same. You have to use ML cables for the ML systems. The ML cables are special shielded and are paired in a special way. The signals inside the cables are balanced. The MCL cables is designed to be used with passive speakers using e.g. MLC2A connection box. As the cable is analog it is not shielded. An easy way to understand is comparing with a car engine. It runs on Diesel or Gasoline. The same goes for MLC and ML. They are not compatible at all.
